✨ Paul's pool milestone!

In December, Inverell participant Paul reached a milestone he’s been working towards for over 12 months.

With the support of his amazing physiotherapists and our dedicated staff, Paul was able to get in the pool using Inverell Aquatic Centre's Pelican lift.

This achievement reflects his determination and the power of the right supports working together. We’re proud to share that Paul will now be swimming regularly!

Meal Planning & Preparation! 🍽️

Brighter Access Supported Independent Living (SIL) participant Jude and his support worker sat down to plan his meals for the week, ensuring everything aligned with his budget before heading out for the grocery shop.

Jude was excited to get home and start cooking up a storm in the kitchen! He’s quite the chef and loves enjoying a variety of fresh, healthy meals.

Meal planning and preparation help reduce food wastage while ensuring balanced meals are ready to enjoy throughout the week. Jude also loves expanding his cooking skills along the way.

Way to go, team! 👏👨‍🍳

🎄 Christmas festivities in Tamworth

Our Tamworth Staff and Participants had a blast in our Community Access Hub celebrating Christmas this week.

The team put on a traditional cooked lunch with ham, roast chicken, baked vegetables, gravy and of course a pavlova with fruit for dessert!

It was a delicious treat and everyone had a great time chatting about their plans for the festive season over lunch. ✨

🎳🎄Port Macquarie Christmas Party!🎳🎄

Our Staff and Participants in Port Macquarie hit the bowling lanes to celebrate the festive season earlier this week.

It was a fantastic opportunity to enjoy some friendly competition, reflect on an amazing year, welcome and get to know two of our newest SIL Participants, and share plenty of laughs over great food.

Word on the grapevine is that while our MNC Regional Manager Kaitlyn is an incredible leader and all-round legend… her bowling skills might still be a work in progress 😉

Our Story

Brighter Access is a community based, non-government service provider committed to supporting individuals with a disability and their families.

The organisation was established in 1979 by a group of interested parents who saw the need for mutual support and the necessity of having regular breaks from the responsibility of caring for a family member with a disability. Brighter Access is committed to provide support for families with children/adults with disability and/or children with additional needs. Brighter Access supports five person-centred values: Making choices, valued social role, growing relationships, ordinary places and developing abilities. As a registered NDIS provider, we have grown over the years and expanded services throughout the New England, Hunter, Central Coast and the Mid North Coast.

Since expanding in Supported Independent Living (SIL), a wonderful partnership between Brighter Access and Enlarge Living has formed which focuses on opening opportunities for people with disability to dream, design and live where they want to live, with who they want to live with.
