Today’s NDIS reform announcement by Minister Mark Butler marks another major shift for our sector. Change can be scary and confusing, in what is an already complex system for providers, participants and families alike to navigate.

🎳 Bowling with Ben

Ben decided to play a few games of tenpin bowling with his Brighter Access Community Access Support Worker in Tamworth last week.

Ben and Donna had a blast taking turns to bowl but it didn't take long for Ben to showcase his outstandingly accurate skills and take the lead. In the end, Ben won with 92 points!

✨ SHOWING OUR APPRECIATION

Our Port Macquarie team held an appreciation barbecue for our participants, staff and families last week at Settlement Point Reserve. It was incredible to see everyone come together sharing laughs and meaningful conversations.

Coinciding with Supported Independent Living (SIL) Participant Cheryl's birthday, everyone joined together in singing her a very cheerful happy birthday as she cut her cake.

Our Story

Brighter Access is a community based, non-government service provider committed to supporting individuals with a disability and their families.

The organisation was established in 1979 by a group of interested parents who saw the need for mutual support and the necessity of having regular breaks from the responsibility of caring for a family member with a disability. Brighter Access is committed to provide support for families with children/adults with disability and/or children with additional needs. Brighter Access supports five person-centred values: Making choices, valued social role, growing relationships, ordinary places and developing abilities. As a registered NDIS provider, we have grown over the years and expanded services throughout the New England, Hunter, Central Coast and the Mid North Coast.

Since expanding in Supported Independent Living (SIL), a wonderful partnership between Brighter Access and Enlarge Living has formed which focuses on opening opportunities for people with disability to dream, design and live where they want to live, with who they want to live with.
