🎉Brighter Access Sapphire City Festival!

As celebrations wrap up from another incredible Brighter Access Sapphire City Festival, we want to take a moment to thank the dedicated committee members who pour their time, energy, and passion into bringing this annual event to life.

We were honoured to be major sponsors this year and are already looking forward to supporting the festival again next year in the same capacity.

A huge shoutout to our amazing Brighter Access staff and participants who volunteered at Friday’s Colour Run. Thank you for showing up, getting involved, and proudly representing Brighter Access.

The colour stations were buzzing with energy, and our Participants had an absolute blast! Of course, we couldn’t resist sharing a few action shots from the day. 💥

Brighter Access is proud to have attended Regional Australia Bank’s Community Partnership Program presentation in Inverell this week. It was an honour to once again be selected as a recipient, this year of $11,160.10.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone in the local community who has supported Brighter Access through this program, and a special thank you to the staff at the Inverell branch for always being so welcoming and helpful.

This generous funding boost plays a vital role in supporting people with disability to live more independently. We’re excited to share that we’ve recently launched an internal Inclusion Grants initiative, encouraging our Participants and staff to think outside of the box in developing inclusive activities, events, and community-based projects.

The goal is to give back to the community while creating new, meaningful and inclusive opportunities for all.

☀️ SUNDAY FUNDAY

Our Supported Independent Living (SIL) participants and support staff in Inverell had a fantastic time cooling off with some fun water play recently! The sprinkler was in full swing, water pistols were ready, and laughter filled the air.

Villa neighbours Paul, James, and John took turns racing through the sprinkler, then gathered under the communal outdoor area for some playful water pistol action. What a great activity to enjoy the warmer weather!

Looking for a supportive SIL home in Inverell with friendly neighbours and plenty of fun communal activities? We currently have vacancies! Reach out to our intake team at intake@brighteraccess.com.au
– we’d love to chat.

✨ Welcome home, Ally!

We’re so excited to welcome Allison into our beautiful, new Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in East Maitland!

Ally’s move-in day was extra special, with her Mum Josephine and Sister Bec helping to decorate her bedroom and making it feel just like home. It was a joy for our staff getting to know Ally's family and seeing her settle into her new space.

We’re looking forward to supporting Ally as she works towards her goals, builds independence, and enjoys life on her own terms. From sharing music and getting creative with art, to watching Ally's favourite horror movies together - there’s so much to look forward to!

Our Story

Brighter Access is a community based, non-government service provider committed to supporting individuals with a disability and their families.

The organisation was established in 1979 by a group of interested parents who saw the need for mutual support and the necessity of having regular breaks from the responsibility of caring for a family member with a disability. Brighter Access is committed to provide support for families with children/adults with disability and/or children with additional needs. Brighter Access supports five person-centred values: Making choices, valued social role, growing relationships, ordinary places and developing abilities. As a registered NDIS provider, we have grown over the years and expanded services throughout the New England, Hunter, Central Coast and the Mid North Coast.

Since expanding in Supported Independent Living (SIL), a wonderful partnership between Brighter Access and Enlarge Living has formed which focuses on opening opportunities for people with disability to dream, design and live where they want to live, with who they want to live with.
