Giving back to the community 🌱

Timothy continues to do a fantastic job with his regular volunteer work at Peak Organics in Peaks Crossing.

During his visits, Timothy helps out around the property and enjoys spending time outdoors. There’s always something to do, and he especially enjoys being around the animals and getting involved in the day-to-day activities.

Volunteering is a great way to stay active, build confidence, and be part of the local community - and Timothy is always happy to lend a hand.

We love seeing him continue with something he enjoys and takes pride in.

A breath of fresh air in nature 🌿

Rhiannon recently headed out with her support worker Tamica for a trip to the Coombabah boardwalk, enjoying some time outdoors and a chance to reset in nature.

During their walk they were lucky enough to spot some amazing wildlife, including butterflies, birds, a kangaroo and even a koala resting high in the trees. Rhiannon enjoyed taking a few photos along the way and soaking in the peaceful surroundings.

Sometimes getting out into nature, going for a walk, and having a good chat can make all the difference. It was a lovely outing filled with fresh air, wildlife and good company.

Big brother duties! 🌳

Levi has the honour of heading out to pick up his brother from school everyday.

Of course, no afternoon outing is complete without a quick stop at the park and a drink along the way. Levi enjoyed a moment to relax on the swing and soak up the sunshine before continuing on his mission.

It’s these everyday moments in the community that help build confidence, independence, and connection with the people who matter most.

Lambie gets a little TLC 🧸🐾

Sometimes it’s the little things that make a big difference.

Support worker Jodie recently spent some time fixing up Lambie, Diane’s dog's well-loved dog toy that had seen a few too many enthusiastic play sessions. While Jodie carefully mended it, Diane’s pup stayed very close by, clearly making sure Lambie was being repaired properly!

Moments like these are part of what makes a house feel like a home - looking after the things (and the pets!) that mean the most.

Little companions, big benefits 🐹

Kelly, who lives in one of our Independent Living Options (ILO) homes, has been learning how to care for her guinea pigs.

With support, Kelly has been building confidence in handling them gently and making sure they’re looked after properly. It’s been lovely to see her spending time with her little companions and enjoying the routine that comes with caring for them.

At Ellie Jane Support Services, we understand the important role animals can play in people’s lives. Pets can bring comfort, companionship, routine, and a real sense of connection at home.

It’s been wonderful seeing Kelly enjoy this special bond while continuing to grow her independence in her ILO.

Teamwork at home 🏡

Kelly has been working hard to help maintain her home in her ILO, teaming up with her support worker Morgan to get the cleaning done.

Together they focused on working efficiently and quickly, making sure tasks were completed before Kelly became too tired. Kelly did a great job vacuuming and helping with the housework, showing how teamwork and the right support can make daily tasks more manageable.

Moments like this are a great example of building independence while making sure supports are tailored to what works best for each person.
