A fresh start doesn’t have to be big or bold.
At GGS, we believe new beginnings can be quiet, gentle, and shaped around what feels right for you.

What this looks like in practice:
• Starting where the participant is — not where others think they should be.
• Moving at a pace that feels safe and supportive.
• Respecting routines while exploring new possibilities.
• Supporting change without pressure.

💬 Your turn:
What does a fresh start look like for you?

Starting a new NDIS plan — or resetting your current one — can feel exciting, overwhelming, or a bit of both. The most important thing to remember is: you don’t need to have everything figured out straight away.

Here’s what to know:

Plans Are Flexible – Your supports can be adjusted as your needs and goals change.
You Can Start Small – It’s okay to begin gently and build momentum over time.
Support Is Ongoing – You’re not expected to navigate your plan alone.

Tip: A fresh start doesn’t mean starting from zero — it means moving forward with support that fits where you are now.

At Get Going Support, we believe this deeply.

Kindness shows up in simple ways — listening, being patient, turning up when it matters. These moments might seem small, but they build trust, confidence, and real progress over time.

As we start the year, we’re reminding ourselves that support doesn’t have to be big or perfect. It just has to be genuine.

What’s one small act of kindness that’s made a difference for you?

We’re here to support you every step of the way.

Living together: 10/10
Dancing together: 11/10

From housemates to best friends, Donna and Gay remind us that a fresh start doesn’t have to be big or loud. Sometimes, it’s found in shared routines, inside jokes, and someone who never lets you skip a song.

January isn’t about pressure or “new year, new you.”
It’s about starting gently — with support that meets you exactly where you are.

At Get Going Support, we’re here for the everyday moments that turn into real progress.

Thinking about a fresh start this year — big or small?

We’re here to support you every step of the way.

Dear Community,

As we step into a new year, we want to take a moment to speak from the heart.

At Get Going Support, we’re reminded every day that support is more than a service — it’s trust, patience, and showing up when it matters. It’s about listening first, moving at your pace, and respecting the life you want to live.

We believe everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported to make their own choices. Whether those choices are big life goals or small everyday moments, we’re here to walk beside you — not ahead of you, and never in your place.

This year, our commitment remains the same. We’ll keep focusing on real connection, steady progress, and support that empowers independence, confidence, and genuine belonging.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey. We’re grateful for the trust, the shared moments, and the growth we get to witness every day.

With care,
The Get Going Support Team

Nothing beats a quiet cuppa on the patio — soaking in the morning light, enjoying the last of the festive cheer, and taking a moment to breathe.

As the new year approaches, these slow moments invite reflection.
For our participants and support workers alike:
How are you hoping to grow in 2026?
What would feeling “better supported” look like for you?

At GGS, we believe meaningful change starts with listening — to ourselves and to each other. Here’s to stepping into 2026 with intention, kindness, and support that truly fits.

Earlier this festive season, Gay had an amazing time shopping and even found the perfect Santa to bring home some Christmas cheer! 🎅✨

As we look back on the joyful moments that made this season special, it’s clear that it’s not about the date — it’s about the smiles, choices, and experiences that matter most.

At GGS, we love supporting moments like these — because joy, independence, and choice don’t end when Christmas does.

Big news for the disability sector. The Australian Government has confirmed that SIL providers and digital platform providers will be required to be registered with the NDIS from July 2026.

This update, shared by National Disability Services (NDS), is a big step towards stronger safeguards, better quality, and improved participant safety across the NDIS.

Mandatory registration means clearer standards, stronger oversight, and greater accountability — helping ensure participants receive safe, high-quality supports, no matter where or how services are delivered.

At GGS, we welcome reforms that put participants first and support a fair, consistent approach across the disability sector.

When you hear the word “supports,” it can sometimes be confusing—because not all supports are funded by the NDIS. Understanding the difference can help you make the most of what’s available.

Here’s a simple breakdown:

Informal Supports – these are unpaid supports, usually from family, friends, or your community. They’re the everyday people who help out.

Mainstream Supports – these come from systems outside the NDIS, like health care, education, housing, or community services. Think GPs, schools, or public transport.

NDIS Supports – these are funded through your NDIS plan, tailored around your goals and disability-related needs. They might include therapy, assistive technology, or support workers.

The NDIS is designed to complement informal and mainstream supports—not replace them. Knowing how they all fit together ensures you’re accessing the right help in the right places.

It’s the season of giving — and receiving joy.

Mary’s smile says it all as she opens her Christmas present — a moment filled with excitement, surprise, and festive cheer.

At GGS, gift-giving isn’t about what’s inside the box. It’s about the feeling of being thought of, included, and celebrated. Because everyone deserves to experience the magic of Christmas in a way that feels meaningful to them.
