Today’s adventure: baking with purpose.

Mary was in full baking mode, whisk in hand, apron on, and the kitchen filled with pure chocolatey heaven.

Through supports like this, the NDIS helps participants build everyday living skills, confidence, and independence in a way that feels enjoyable and meaningful. Baking isn’t just fun, it’s a chance to develop routine, creativity, and a sense of achievement.

At GGS, we tailor supports around what each participant enjoys, because that’s where real growth happens, in moments that feel natural, empowering, and truly theirs.

One size doesn’t fit all.

At GGS, Individual Living Options (ILO) give participants flexible housing solutions with support that fits their lifestyle, goals, and preferences.

What this looks like in practice:

We provide options for shared or solo living arrangements.

We customise support levels to match independence and confidence.

We regularly review arrangements to keep them aligned with evolving needs.

Progress doesn’t always look like major milestones or big changes. Sometimes it’s quiet showing up, trying again, resting when you need to, or feeling a little more confident than you did before. All of that counts.

Growth isn’t linear, and it doesn’t need to be visible to be real. Your journey is allowed to move at your pace, with pauses, steps forward, and moments of stillness along the way.

Tip: Small steps are still steps forward.

Independence should never mean feeling alone.

Supported Independent Living isn’t just about managing a home — it’s also about staying connected to others, feeling included, and having a sense of belonging. Whether it’s shared living, time with friends, family visits, or community activities, connection plays a big role in wellbeing.

At Get Going Support, we believe emotional wellbeing matters just as much as practical support. We encourage meaningful connections, support social opportunities, and create environments where people feel seen, valued, and supported not just housed.

Because real independence grows best when people feel connected, confident, and supported in their everyday lives.

We’re here to support you every step of the way.

We’re excited to launch GGS Lunch Club a monthly lunch catch-up created in response to staff feedback for more opportunities to connect in a relaxed, social setting.

This isn’t a meeting.
It’s not formal.
It’s simply about coming together.

Lunch Club is a chance for staff and participants to sit down, share a meal, have a chat, and build stronger connections outside of day-to-day support. Because relationships matter and community doesn’t just happen, we create it.

An RSVP will be sent out around two weeks before each lunch so we can confirm numbers and book a table.

If you’re on shift, we encourage you to attend with your participant. If you’re not working at the time, you’re still very welcome to come along and join us.

Please note: meals are pay your own way.

We can’t wait to see this space grow into something special 💚

Trust doesn’t happen instantly, and that’s completely okay. Strong support relationships are built over time, through consistency, respect, and feeling genuinely heard. It’s normal for trust to grow slowly as you get to know the people supporting you.

Feeling safe to communicate openly, having your choices respected, and knowing your support team will show up when they say they will — these are all signs of healthy, trust-based support. You deserve a team that values your voice and takes the time to understand you.

💡 Tip: Trust grows when you feel respected, not rushed.

Living independently often means learning new routines from cooking and cleaning to managing appointments and daily tasks. At first, it can feel overwhelming, and that’s completely normal.

The key is taking things step by step. Independence grows when people are supported to try, practice, and learn in ways that feel safe and achievable. Small routines, done consistently, build confidence and create a sense of control over everyday life.

At Get Going Support, we focus on progress, not perfection. We support people to build routines that work for them at their pace, in their own way so independence feels empowering, not stressful.

We’re here to support you every step of the way.

Harley hit the lanes and made it his moment lining up each shot, watching the ball roll, and enjoying every frame.

This bowling session was all about focus, fun, and doing something he enjoys. At GGS, we love seeing participants build confidence through community activities that feel empowering and exciting.

Because sometimes it’s not about the score it’s about showing up, having a go, and celebrating the wins along the way. 👏

Today’s adventure: baking joy.

Mary was in full baking mode whisk in hand, apron on, and the kitchen filled with pure chocolatey heaven.

At GGS, moments like these are about more than baking. They’re about confidence, creativity, and the freedom to enjoy everyday activities in a way that feels fun and empowering.

Because real support makes room for joy, mess, laughter and a little bit of chocolate.

Living independently doesn’t mean doing it alone.

At GGS, Supported Independent Living (SIL) gives participants the freedom to live their way, with the right support when needed.

🧠 What this looks like in practice:

We help participants manage daily routines while respecting personal choices.

We provide guidance without taking control of decisions.

We foster confidence, skills, and independence in a safe environment.

What does independence look like to you in supported living?
