Cultural safety means more than just being aware of someone’s background—it’s about creating a space where people feel truly respected, understood, and valued for who they are. For First Nations participants and people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, this means having support workers who recognise, honour, and adapt to their cultural identities and lived experiences.
At GGS, we believe culturally safe support is essential to delivering real person-centred care. It means using the right language, understanding family roles, honouring traditions, and checking in—not assuming. It’s not just about avoiding harm; it’s about building meaningful trust, deep connection, and genuine belonging.
We work hard to match participants with team members who are culturally aligned and aware, and we continually learn from our community. Because everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported—in every way.
