Sometimes, it’s the little things that create the biggest impact. For Balin, that means more days spent doing what he loves — swimming! With George’s support, he’s been getting out for a dip more often now that the weather’s heating up ☀️

And of course, no swim is complete without an ice cream after! 🍦

At GGS, we know that real growth comes from moments like these — where joy, confidence, and connection flow together.

Riding towards confidence and joy 🐴💚

Mary absolutely loves horseriding — it’s one of her favourite activities! With the support of Susan, she regularly spends time with her horse Teddy, building skills and enjoying every moment.

This time, she took home her first dressage ribbon — a proud milestone that celebrates her dedication and growth.

At GGS, we’re all about empowering participants to do what they love and feel proud along the way.

Since moving out on his own, Kasey’s been discovering the joy of independence — one meal at a time. 🍽️
With the support of Jacqueline, he whipped up a delicious plate of nachos for dinner!

At GGS, we celebrate every milestone — big or small — that builds confidence and independence. 💛

Understanding comes before action.

At GGS, empathy guides our decisions. We pause to listen and respond with care.

🧠 What this looks like in practice:

We ask questions to truly understand needs and feelings.

We validate experiences before offering solutions or guidance.

We ensure participants feel heard, respected, and supported.

💬 Your turn:
What’s one way you show empathy in your role?

Cultural safety means more than just being aware of someone’s background—it’s about creating a space where people feel truly respected, understood, and valued for who they are. For First Nations participants and people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, this means having support workers who recognise, honour, and adapt to their cultural identities and lived experiences.

At GGS, we believe culturally safe support is essential to delivering real person-centred care. It means using the right language, understanding family roles, honouring traditions, and checking in—not assuming. It’s not just about avoiding harm; it’s about building meaningful trust, deep connection, and genuine belonging.

We work hard to match participants with team members who are culturally aligned and aware, and we continually learn from our community. Because everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported—in every way.

Every step counts, no matter how small.

At GGS, we celebrate progress, not perfection. Each achievement is a milestone worth recognising.

🧠 What this looks like in practice:

We acknowledge wins, whether big or tiny, with participants and the team.

We reflect on improvements and set new, achievable goals together.

We create an environment where growth is visible and valued.

NDIS plan reviews can feel stressful—but with the right preparation, they can also be empowering. The key is knowing what to expect and having the right information ready. Start by reviewing your current plan: what worked well, what didn’t, and where your needs have changed.

Document everything. Keep notes about goals you’ve reached, supports you still need, and any challenges you’ve faced. Gathering reports from allied health professionals, support workers, or service providers can help highlight progress and support any changes you request.

Bring someone you trust. Whether it's a family member, a support coordinator, or an advocate—they can help communicate clearly, provide moral support, and ensure your voice is heard.

Most importantly, remember this is your plan. It should reflect your goals, values, and priorities. You don’t have to navigate it alone—GGS is here to support you every step of the way.
