Happy Brain Psychology

Happy Brain Psychology Embracing differences. Celebrating diversity. Collaborative and inclusive mental health services At Happy Brain we know that one size does not fit all.

At Happy Brain we use a client centered approach using therapies such as Expressive Therapies, Strengths Based, Narrative and Solution Focused Therapies. We truly partner with the individual as well as their support system which may include family members, school teachers and anyone else that may be important to therapeutic success. Most importantly your goals and what is important to you is the centre of everything we do. We aim to mindfully listen and be present through the ups and downs of life but most of all we value the therapeutic partnership and pay careful attention to matching clients with the right therapist. So yes, we invest in getting to know you because trusting us to help you or someone you love is the foundation of any good therapeutic outcome. Our team includes a diverse range of registered mental health professionals who provide psychology, counselling and assessment services for children, adolescents, adults and families. We offer in clinic services, telehealth, and mobile outreach to schools and homes. We embrace and celebrate our clients' differences, dedicate time to getting to know them, to understand what’s important to them, and together create a therapy plan that's just right for them and will help them live the life they want to live.

Big Thanks to our Psychologist Jaime who shared a great lunch and learn session - sharing knowledge and learning is something we do on a regular basis at Happy Brain! Connecting over a lunch time to learn from our team's experiences helps us all learn together. Who said private practice was lonely😝

✨ At Happy Brain, we never stop learning. ✨

Our team recently joined Liam Spicer for a deep dive into EMDR and Schema Therapy to learn how these powerful approaches can enhance the way we support our clients.

Professional development days like this embodies the values we love and adore about Happu Brain, like:

Let’s normalise showing up meaningfully for your child over planning out your perfect response (that never goes to plan anyway). 🙃

‼️Repeat after us: You don’t have to be calm 24/7 to be a good parent.‼️

You’re allowed to have big feelings, hard days, and moments where your regulation completely flies out the window.

Your child isn’t looking for a perfectly calm, always-composed parent. They’re looking for you—messy moments, deep breaths, tearful hugs and all.

Parenting through meltdowns, misunderstandings, and a million sensory triggers is hard. You’re allowed to lose your cool sometimes.

Being a good parent isn’t about perfection—and thank god for that. 🙌🫂

✨ Happy Brain’s Inaugural D&D Social Skills Group: A Quest for Connection! ✨

This weekend, our brave adventurers embarked on their first-ever campaign, “The Most Potent Brew”—and magic happened!

🧙New Heroes, New Bonds:
From nervous first-time rollers to seasoned dungeon masters, our team faced the ultimate quest: overcoming the anxiety of meeting new people. And guess what? They absolutely CRUSHED IT!

🎲 Authenticity Unleashed:
Through collaborative storytelling, problem-solving, and a few nat 20s, our group:
✅ Connected with peers in a safe, judgment-free space.
✅ Learned about each other’s strengths (and secret mimic-fighting strategies).
✅ Expressed themselves freely—because nothing says “authentic” like a half-elf bard debating a troll!

Why D&D?
It’s more than a game—it’s a gateway to practicing social skills, building confidence, and embracing vulnerability. When you’re slaying dragons (or brewing potions), laughter becomes the best icebreaker!

A Special Thanks to our incredible facilitators and participants for turning anxiety into adventure. Together, we proved that growth happens when we dare to roll the dice. 💛

Stay tuned for our next campaign—because every hero’s journey deserves a sequel! 🏰
