Hatha Yoga Ipswich At present the Hatha Yoga & Senior's Yoga classes are held at the Scout Halls in Booval and Eastern Heights. Newcomers are most welcome. September 2017.

I'm Maria Steiner teaching weekly Hatha Yoga Classes and Meditation In Ipswich QLD Australia (mainly in Booval and Eastern Heights) since 2006. Hatha Yoga based on the teachings by Swami Sivananda and the five points of yoga by Swami Vishnu-Devananda: proper exercise (Asana) breating (Pranayama) relaxation (Savasana) vegetarian diet, positive thinking & meditation (Dhyana). We practise yoga postures and exercises for strength, flexibility and balance. As well as breathing exercises and proper relaxation. FIRST FREE TRIAL CLASS !! Once a month I teach Satsang (Meditation, Kirtan, Yoga lecture). I presently have four different colours of eye pillows available: purple, navy blue, green & light green. I sew them and I can make a different colour of your choice if you wish. They are filled with lavender- and linseeds.
The cost is $18 or $ 22 with a matching slip (that you can take off and wash if necessary).

This is a spontanous subject and idea for our Meditation class tomorrow Friday 24 October at 5pm. (please contact me for location details).

We have a big rosemary bush growing in the herb - garden. I'm inspired to talk about the benefits of rosemary and herbs in general "how can we use herbs to improve our state of mind and general well being, can it bring calmness?" To be creative and "drop the head into the heart", will be making smudge sticks. Be inspired and surprised by this different approach to meditation. I look forward to share some herbalims as well. In this Asana all muscles from the neck to the heels are stretched.

Physical Benefits:

Brings fresh blood to the throat and thyroid gland.

Locking of the chin massages the thyroid gland.

Extends the cervical section of the spine giving it a powerful stretch. Same to the rest of the spine as well as hamstrings and calves.

During the inhalation intense pressure is applied to the abdomen giving a good stimulation to the digestive system.

Opens up the shoulder joints.

Our Story

Hello and welcome to my page and website https://hathayogaipswich.com.au/ I'm Maria Steiner teaching weekly Hatha Yoga Classes and Meditation In Ipswich QLD Australia (mainly in Booval and Eastern Heights) since 2006. Hatha Yoga based on the five pillars of yoga: exercise (Asana), breathing (Pranayama), relaxation (Savasana), vegetarian diet, positive thinking & meditation (Dhyana). We practise yoga postures and exercises for strength, flexibility and balance. As well as breathing exercises and proper relaxation. FIRST FREE TRIAL CLASS !! Once a month I teach Satsang (Meditation, Kirtan, Yoga lecture). I teach private one-on-one classes, from my Yoga space at home in Silkstone.

With the COVID restrictions I started to teach online Yoga classes via Zoom. Which has been a good success, with Yogis joining us online from the comfort of their homes in Ipswich, Brisbane, Melbourne, Tasmania, country NSW, as far as Overseas in Switzerland and Canada.

The online classes continue, even while in-person Yoga classes are back at the Scout Halls. Looking forward to seeing you on a yoga mat soon, in person or online. OM Shantih OM Maria Prema
