Goodbye Brissy, Hello Vancouver, Canada!
Arrived early morning & as our room wasn’t ready, we took the shuttle to the Capilano Suspension Bridge 🌉. We walked across, did the treetop walk & also did the cliff walk which I said I wasn’t going to do.
So glad I didn’t chicken out and just to let you know I didn’t crawl across, I walked and my eyes were open on all walks. 😅
Thank you to our house sitters, we can relax knowing our home is in good hands.
Looking forward to what’s planned tomorrow 🇨🇦

Were you aware this week is Dementia Week?
Living with someone who has dementia can be deeply challenging, but also profoundly meaningful.
Here's some communication tips that may help.

1. Keep it simple
- Use short, clear sentences.
- Avoid open-ended questions like “What do you want to eat?” Instead, offer choices: “Would you like soup or a sandwich?”

2. Stay calm & reassuring.
- Your tone matters more than your words.
- If they’re confused or upset, don’t argue. Gently redirect or validate their feelings.

3. Use visual & physical cues.
- Point to objects, use gestures or guide them gently by the hand.

Hope these few tips help when communicating with your loved one who's been diagnosed with dementia.
