Wishing everyone a Happy Easter from the Engage team. May this season generate moments of peace, laughter, and renewal. Whether you're spending time with loved ones or simply enjoying the beauty of nature, we hope you find comfort and joy in the simple pleasures of life.

This long weekend, we encourage you to prioritise your mental health, enjoy some quiet time, or some loud people, the outdoors, a book, gratitude, a reflective moment, or some motocross!... whatever it is that gets you centred.

It's RU OK Day, and some of the Engage Psychology team are running a small stall at Bunnings West Ipswich this morning. If you are in the area, pop down for a free cupcake!

We have team members dedicated to chatting to members of the community about the RU OK Day message, and other team members available to have 1:1 chats, and provide referral sources for mental health services in our region.

RU OK Day is a small piece of the puzzle in reducing the stigma of mental health in our community.

We will be providing information on post-Covid mental health, as we are passionate about helping people through the lasting impacts of the pandemic. However, feel free to come and have a chat about mental health in general.

Location:
Bunnings West Ipswich
Corner Brisbane Clay & Darling Streets, Ipswich

Today I met up with Zoe Knorre and Janina from Grace Homestead Recovery Centre to discuss expanding their services.

Zoe is our 2022 Ipswich Citizen of the Year for her incredible work founding Grace Homestead.

Grace Homestead is the only long-term residential recovery centre in Queensland for mothers affected by addiction and domestic violence. They allow mothers to bring up to two children into their program, so they can care for their children while receiving life-changing treatment.

Zoe also runs her own practice as a clinical psychologist, Engage Psychology, drawing on her experience from working in public, private and academic settings.
