iCare Wins Business of the Year – Women Changing the World Awards
Today, we celebrate something truly extraordinary.
Our Founder, Amy, has been recognised at the The Women Changing the World Australia & Pacific Awards, taking home the incredible honour of Business of the Year and it is a moment that speaks to the heart of who she is, and why iCare exists.
Amy grew iCare from the ground up, a single mum of four at the time, doing whatever it took to build something meaningful, something compassionate, something that mattered. Today, she is a mum of seven biological children, a 3rd-year nursing student, a relentless advocate, and a woman who decided that the disability and health sector needed to look and feel different. Needed to be better.
And in her own words from her acceptance speech:
**“Thank you so much, this is such an honour. To the judges, sponsors, finalists, and every person who has supported me, challenged me, encouraged me, or believed in me, thank you.
I am the founder of iCare Support Services, a mum of seven biological children, and 3rd year Bachelor of Nursing Student. My mission is to shake up the health sector, to build a system that leads with dignity, compassion, and genuine humanity.
And to every woman listening, please hear this. I didn’t wait for perfect timing. I built, I studied, I mothered and figured things out along the way. If I can raise seven kids and still decide to change my life, my career, and an entire industry, you can start whatever is calling you too.
This award gives me a louder platform to challenge the way healthcare operates, but more importantly, it is a reminder that it is never too late to begin, to learn, to dream bigger than your circumstances.
So, to the mums, the woman, the dreamers, the late starters, the people reinventing themselves, take up space. The world won’t change for us… until we decide to change it.
Thank you, truly.”**
This award may have Amy’s name on it, but it belongs to every single person in the iCare family.
To our Support Workers:
You are the heartbeat of this organisation.
You show up. You care deeply. You go above and beyond.
You make iCare what it is.
Your compassion, your strength, your patience, your love, that is what changes lives.
This award is as much yours as it is ours.
To our Participants and their families:
Thank you for trusting us.
Thank you for letting us walk beside you.
Thank you for being the reason we do what we do.
Amy’s story is one of courage, grit, love, and an unwavering belief that community and compassion can change the world, and today, the world recognised that.
But this is only the beginning.
Here’s to dreaming bigger.
Here’s to leading with heart.
Here’s to the women changing the world, and everyone who walks beside them
