šŸ„— Cooking Together, Learning Together, Growing Together šŸ§‘ā€šŸ³šŸ’œ

One thing we love seeing is our participants building new skills in the kitchen and working towards healthier choices — and it's even better when we’re all supporting each other along the way.

Cooking isn’t just about food. It’s about:
✨ Building independence
✨ Learning new skills
✨ Supporting healthy lifestyles
✨ Trying something new
✨ Celebrating achievements (big and small)

We’ve been encouraging participants to make healthy meals, take photos, and share their progress — and we absolutely love seeing the confidence grow each time. Whether it’s a simple snack, a full meal, or trying something new, every step counts.

We also love that our team is getting involved too — because supporting healthy goals isn’t just for participants, it’s something we’re all working towards together. šŸ¤

We’re especially excited about our new recipe cards — designed to be neuroaffirming, friendly, and easy to follow, so anyone can use them at their own pace.
No pressure. No perfection. Just supportive, achievable cooking.

Seeing participants learn new skills, try healthier meals, and feel proud of what they’ve made is what it’s all about.

We can’t wait to see more meals, more smiles, and more confidence growing in the kitchen šŸ’œ

Sometimes support isn't about big things…
Sometimes it's about creating a little space that feels like you. 🌿

Maybe it's building a garden for a quiet zen area
Maybe it's starting an art corner
Maybe it's finally having someone listen to that idea you've had for months

Our support goes deeper than you think.

If someone wants to build a garden… we don't just say "that's nice" — we help plan it, shop for it, plant it, and watch it grow together.

Because it's not just about the garden.
It's about confidence.
It's about calm.
It's about creating a space that feels safe and meaningful.

We believe support should:
• Listen first
• Encourage ideas
• Turn small goals into real moments
• Help people enjoy their hobbies
• Celebrate every little win

Sometimes support looks like:
• Sitting and listening
• Helping plan something meaningful
• Taking that first step together
• Encouraging when things feel hard
• Celebrating growth — no matter how small

We love seeing our participants grow.
We love watching confidence build.
We love seeing people create spaces that feel like home.

Because sometimes… people don’t just need support.
They need support that gets it.

Support that listens.
Support that encourages.
Support that walks beside you.

And honestly… that's our favourite kind of support. 🩷

Girls Cooking Club was a smashing success last week, and honestly it was just one of those really nice, feel-good days.

• We cooked together and shared some laughs along the way
• We even threw in a walk around the block
• Some did one lap, others smashed out three — every effort counted
• Lots of chatting, encouragement, and just enjoying being together
• Healthy food, fresh air, and good company

It wasn’t about doing things perfectly. It was just about showing up, being present, and supporting each other.

These are the kind of moments that make Girls Cooking Club so special. If you want to join, reach out to our Team at https://mychoicedisabilitysupport.com.au/book-a-call

šŸø Supporting Goals One Step (and Swing) at a Time

One of our participants is getting more into sports and recently chose squash as the next skill they want to learn — and we absolutely love seeing this motivation and excitement.

At My Choice Disability Support, we are passionate about supporting participants to work towards their goals, in their way, and at their pace. Whether it's baby steps or big leaps, every step forward is worth celebrating.

To support this goal, today we shared ā€œSquash | 5 Easy Ways to Instantly Improve Your Game | For Beginnersā€ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhVGSsfFmGg with our participant. We love researching and finding helpful resources so participants can build confidence, learn new skills, and feel proud of what they're achieving.

Because sometimes it's not just about playing a sport…
It's about:
✨ Building confidence
✨ Trying something new
✨ Having fun
✨ Improving wellbeing
✨ Feeling proud of progress

We love seeing our participants discover what they enjoy and then walking alongside them as they grow.

Every swing, every try, every laugh — it all counts.

We can't wait to see where this squash journey leads šŸøšŸ’œ

ā€œYou Don’t Have to Explain Everythingā€

Sometimes you don’t have the words.

And that’s okay.

Support doesn’t always need explanations šŸ’›

ā€œSupport That Feels Safeā€

Meeting new people can be one of the hardest things for neurodivergent individuals.

That’s why we focus on connection first.

At My Choice Disability Support, we:
šŸ’› Take time to build trust
šŸ’› Keep communication clear and simple
šŸ’› Respect boundaries
šŸ’› Let relationships grow naturally

We provide support in-home, in the community, and through SIL across Brisbane, always tailored to what feels right for you.

No pressure. No judgment. No rushing.

Just real support, real connection, and people who truly get it.

If you’re looking for support — or even just thinking about it — you can start here, in your own time:

In the NDIS space, it’s easy to get caught up in systems.
Funding. Hours. Reports. Compliance.
And while all of that matters…
it’s not why we do what we do.
We are heart led.
That means:
• We see the person before the plan
• We build connection before expectation
• We listen — really listen
• We meet people where they’re at, not where they’re ā€œmeant to beā€
Because support isn’t just a service.
It’s trust.
It’s safety.
It’s showing up consistently, especially on the hard days.

We work alongside people navigating mental health, neurodivergence, intellectual disability, and cerebral palsy — and no two journeys look the same.
So we don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach.
We slow it down.
We adjust.
We walk beside people, not in front of them.

At the end of the day, being heart led means this:
We care about people — not just outcomes.
And that’s something you can feel šŸ’›

Small Steps Are Big Wins

Sometimes the goal isn’t the whole outing…
Sometimes it’s just:
āœ”ļø Getting in the car
āœ”ļø Driving to the location
āœ”ļø Sitting for 5 minutes
āœ”ļø Saying hello

And that is MORE than enough.

At My Choice Disability Support, we celebrate the small wins — because they’re actually big ones.

Whether that’s happening at home, out in the community, or within SIL supports in Brisbane, every step matters.

Confidence isn’t built in giant leaps…
It’s built in safe, supported moments over time šŸ’«
