We Support Teens and Adults in Brisbane.

Support isnโ€™t just a service โ€” itโ€™s connection.
When communities show up with care, people thrive with more independence, confidence, and belonging ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŒˆ

๐ŸŒŸ WEโ€™RE HIRING SUPPORT WORKERS (THE GOOD KIND) ๐ŸŒŸ
Forest Lake โ†’ Logan | Day & Night Shifts
My Choice Disability Support x SociABLE Society

๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’› WHO WEโ€™RE ACTUALLY LOOKING FOR
Not robots.
Not box-tickers.
Humans with heart, emotional intelligence, and real mental health experience (this oneโ€™s a must).
Youโ€™ll thrive here if you are the kind of person who leads with compassion, stays grounded under pressure, and genuinely understands what safe, respectful support looks like.

โœ… COMPLEX MENTAL HEALTH EXPERIENCE (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
We are not looking for โ€œbasic mental health awareness.โ€
This role supports participants with complex and serious mental health needs, which may include:
๐ŸŒช Emotional distress and dysregulation
๐Ÿง  Psychosocial disability and fluctuating mental health
๐Ÿค Trauma backgrounds and high emotional sensitivity
๐Ÿšจ Periods of overwhelm, shutdown, or heightened emotion
๐Ÿง˜ Support needs requiring calm, grounded presence

This is support work that requires:
โœ… Confidence in de-escalation and regulation support
โœ… Trauma-informed, person-centred care
โœ… The ability to stay steady when emotions run big
โœ… A deeply respectful, non-judgmental approach
If youโ€™ve never supported complex mental health before, this role may not be the right fit.
But if you have โ€” and you understand how much safety, trust, and connection matterโ€ฆ
You will thrive here.

๐ŸŒˆ YOUโ€™LL LOVE THIS ROLE IF YOU:
โœ… Are neuroaffirming, kind, patient, and emotionally safe
๐Ÿค Feel confident supporting non-verbal participants
๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ Can stay grounded when emotions run big or things get dysregulated
โฐ Are reliable, flexible, and open to day and night shifts
๐Ÿš Enjoy variety โ€” SIL, community access, and social programs
โœจ Bring warmth, calm presence, and real human connection

โœจ EXTRA SPARKLE IF YOU:
๐ŸŽฎ Love gaming, art, movies, food adventures, or spontaneous fun
๐Ÿง  Are quirky, creative, or proudly neurodivergent
๐Ÿ˜‚ Use gentle humour (never sarcasm), curiosity, and empathy
๐Ÿšซ Bring zero judgment and heaps of emotional safety

๐Ÿ›  THE PRACTICAL STUFF (AKA BORING BUT IMPORTANT)
๐Ÿš— Valid driverโ€™s licence
๐Ÿš™ Your own insured & registered vehicle
๐Ÿ›ก NDIS Worker Screening + Blue Card (or willing to get them)
โค๏ธ First Aid & CPR
๐ŸŒฑ A genuine passion for supporting people in respectful, connected ways

๐Ÿค WHAT YOUโ€™LL BE DOING (REAL LIFE EDITION)
๐ŸŒ Social outings & actual community adventures
๐Ÿก SIL support
๐Ÿง  Mental health engagement and emotional safety support
๐Ÿค Building trust and meaningful relationships
โœจ Helping people feel safe, seen, connected, and confident
๐ŸŒˆ Supporting participants to build a life they genuinely enjoy

๐Ÿ’› WHY YOUโ€™LL LOVE IT HERE
Because youโ€™re treated like a whole human, not just a rostered body.
Your ideas matter.
Your quirks are celebrated.
Your emotional intelligence is valued.
This is the kind of work where you finish a shift and think:
โ€œYep. That actually mattered.โ€

๐Ÿ’Œ READY TO JOIN A TEAM THAT GETS IT?

Strong women donโ€™t always roar.
Sometimes they show up quietly, tired, hopeful, determined anyway.

Women build strength in a thousand unseen ways โ€”
by caring, by trying again, by holding space for others while learning to hold space for themselves.

Strength is choosing yourself without apology.
Itโ€™s supporting other women instead of competing.
Itโ€™s knowing when to push and when to rest.
We rise when we lift each other.
When we celebrate effort, not perfection.
When we remind one another that confidence isnโ€™t loud โ€” itโ€™s steady.

To every woman reading this:
You are powerful in your softness.
You are brave in your honesty.
You are strong simply because you keep going.
And that strength?
It deserves to be seen, honoured, and celebrated โ€” every single day ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿšจ Honorary lifeguards on patrol today ๐Ÿšจ
(aka floating, laughing, supervising vibes only ๐Ÿ˜„)

Pool day done right ๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ
โœ”๏ธ Big laughs
โœ”๏ธ Good chats
โœ”๏ธ Safe splashing
โœ”๏ธ Zero pressure to be anything other than yourself

Some days itโ€™s not about laps or goals โ€” itโ€™s about feeling comfortable, connected, and having people around you who just get it. Fun means you can talk a lot, talk a little, stim, float, joke, rest, or just exist in the water ๐Ÿ’›

10/10 pool energy. Would absolutely patrol again ๐Ÿ˜Œโœจ

๐Ÿ’› Weโ€™re fundraising for something that truly matters ๐Ÿ’›

Yesterday, two of our incredible participants kicked off our fundraising with a bang by accepting a challenge and walking around the lake at Forest Lake.
Big steps. Big hearts. Big reason. ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ‘

This year, weโ€™re fundraising because weโ€™re preparing for the open road and taking part in esCarpade 2026 โ€” a seven-day driving adventure from the Sunshine Coast to Tweed Heads โ€” to bring positivity, fun, and laughter back into the lives of kids facing cancer.

Weโ€™re raising awareness and funds for Camp Quality.

Every single month, 64 children are diagnosed with cancer.
For over 40 years, Camp Quality has supported kids and families impacted by cancer โ€” helping them build optimism, resilience, connection, and joy through community, education, and fun.

Their programs support children aged 0โ€“15, whether they are facing their own cancer diagnosis or supporting a sibling, parent, or carer through theirs.

Last year alone, Camp Quality supported 1 in 3 children diagnosed with cancer โ€” and their goal is to reach every single one.

Cancer has touched the lives of our participants, our support workers, and our wider team.
So when this idea came up around Christmas, it was a full yes from everyone.

Seeing our participants step up, get involved, and lead this fundraiser fills our hearts more than we can put into words. This is what community looks like. This is what purpose looks like. ๐Ÿ’›

โœจ This is such a beautiful cause, and weโ€™re so proud to be part of it. โœจ

๐Ÿ‘‰ Check out our link here https://fundraise.campquality.org.au/fundraisers/mychoicedisabilitysupport if you would like to contribute as well.

What do chopping onions, spag bog, and fun have in common?
โœจ Tears
โœจ Chaos
โœจ Strong smells
โœจ At least one person saying โ€œWHY ARE WE

DOING THIS?โ€
And somehowโ€ฆ
๐Ÿ dinner still gets made
๐Ÿ˜‚ everyone laughs
๐Ÿ’› memories happen in the mess

Fun doesnโ€™t always look calm.
Sometimes it looks like watery eyes, sauce everywhere, and vibes.
10/10 would cry again.

Cooking Club at SociAble Society ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Let me introduce our grill master.
Not all heroes wear capes.
Some control the BBQ.
Protector of the snags and rissoles.
Legend of the tongs.
10/10 would trust him with our rissoles & sausages again.
