🍳✨ Sociable Society Cooking Club – For Adult NDIS Participants ✨🍳

Looking for a fun and supportive place to build life skills, meet new people, and enjoy great food? Join us every Tuesday at Sociable Society Cooking Club in Forest Lake.

This program is designed for adult NDIS participants who want to explore cooking, grow their independence, and enjoy a relaxed day with a welcoming group of people.

👩‍🍳 What the day looks like:
✨ Learn new cooking skills and recipes
✨ Be part of a friendly group where everyone says hello and makes you feel welcome
✨ Build confidence and independence in the kitchen
✨ Share laughs, conversations, and good food

At Sociable Society you don’t just watch — you get to create it, cook it, and eat it!

🚗 Transport available – We can organise pick-up and drop-off to make attending easy.

🥗 Meals for the week option
For a small additional cost, participants can take home 7 meals for the week, prepared during the session. Perfect if you want easy meals ready to go!

📍 Every Tuesday – Forest Lake

If you’re an adult NDIS participant who wants to learn, connect, and have fun in the kitchen, we’d love to have you join us.

They are so cool, come and see if you are lucky enough to grab one at i11 booth on our lucky dip at Brisbane Disability Connection Expo.

How It Feels to Belong

It feels like exhaling
after holding your breath
for years without knowing you were drowning.

It feels like
your shoulders dropping
two inches lower than they’ve ever been,
like your body finally whispering,
you don’t have to brace anymore.

It feels like laughter
that doesn’t ask permission,
like saying the strange thought out loud
and no one flinching—
they just smile and say,
me too.

It feels like warmth
that doesn’t burn,
like sitting in silence
that doesn’t demand you fill it.

It feels like being seen
without performing,
heard without explaining,
held without shrinking.

It feels like
you can be unfinished,
messy, loud, quiet, too much, not enough—
and somehow, still welcome.

It feels like coming home
to a place
that isn’t a place at all,
but a moment
where you realise
you were never wrong for being you.
