Well another year is on us - Happy New Year everyone. Here’s hoping for a much better year in 2024. We are back in action at the surgery.
With the pressures of the year, please don’t put off maintaining your health. I have come to realise that as I age, keeping healthy takes work on my part. I need to remind myself constantly that the effort required is an investment in my future.
For dental health, the humble toothbrush used well is a very simple but so important factor. It is so easy to forget the value of careful daily brushing.
This year I plan to share with you, ways of maintaining your dental health and the importance and benefits of this. Don’t be distracted by expensive machines and toothpastes - these can be helpful to overcome disability but in general are not necessary for most.

Bulk bill children’s dental treatment. This is available for children where their parents tax assessment provides Family Tax Benifits part A, through Medicare (simply bring your Medicare card for swiping). With school holidays commencing next week, it would be wise to check if your children are due for a dental checkup. The Medicare service allows for $1036, over a 2 year period, for eligible children under 18 years. As the allowance is provided on a calendar year basis, it would be good to consider this school holidays as a time to bring your children. We will provide extra appointments during this school holidays to accommodate you. 😃🦷

I am very happy to report that our Google advertising problems are now sorted, following a week of very few phone calls . It is good that Google responded to the problem and all is well again. Apparently millions of businesses al around the world were affected. Regards to all, Graham

Something has happened within Google resulting in thousands of business listings being suspended, including ours. It occurred on Thursday night 25th August.

A note on the Children’s Dental Benefit Scheme. Are eligible children dentally up to date. This scheme allows for $1013 of free dental treatment over a 2 year period (commencing 1 January) for all children between 2 & 18 years of age where the parents taxable income allows for family tax benefits part A.
If your child is eligible please note that the benefit year is almost over.
We currently have appointments available to utilise this benefit.

Happy to announce that after many months of being restricted to emergency treatment, we have now returned to full services. The current low level of Covid transmission and the high vaccination rates have now given us all the confidence to be able to return to work.
However, we all need to continue to be careful - so we still wear masks, check in and avoid crowded situations and most importantly remain at home if we have any of the Covid symptoms.
Appointments are now available for regular dental treatments by appointment- please phone or text 0408665161 or either of our other numbers.
Please keep us all safe by postponing treatment if you have any symptoms.

Letting everyone know that we are now back at work -so it is business as usual with COVIDSafe modifications.
We are totally committed to providing a safe environment for our patients and ourselves. We adhere to the infection control guidelines and wear masks. We ask that if you have an appointment and you don’t feel well or exhibit any of the Corona symptoms that you phone and change the appointment to when you recover. This way we can all work to keep safe.
These are very challenging times and we hope that everyone is healthy and keeps hope alive for a better tomorrow.

The stark realities of the seriousness of the COVID 19 pandemic are close to home now. It is no longer something we watch on TV in another country. The National Cabinet has now placed Dentists on level 3 restrictions. This means that we are not to perform any procedure which can cause a spray of droplets into the air and we are to refrain from routine dental check ups. This effectively prevents us from doing routine dental check ups, any non urgent surgery, fillings and scale and cleans. Temporary fillings done with hand instruments are acceptable.
It is with a heavy heart that I announce that my dental practices are now closed for regular treatment until further notice.
I make this decision to comply with the Dental Board of Australia and for the health and safety of my staff and myself.
