Bicep tendinitis is inflammation or irritation of the biceps tendon, commonly caused by overuse or repetitive motions. This can sometimes even be due to microscopic tears.

Symptoms include pain in the front of the shoulder or upper arm, tenderness, and swelling.

Treatment typically involves rest, icing, anti-inflammatory medication, and physical therapy to strengthen the affected area.

If your tendinitis is severe enough to lead to partial or complete tears in the tendon, surgical repair may also be necessary.

If you are experiencing any of the symptoms mentioned above, come and see us at one of our locations for an assessment.

Are you suffering from neck pain?

Neck pain can have various causes, including:

1. Poor posture: Holding your head in an unnatural position, such as looking down at a computer screen for long periods, can strain the neck muscles and cause pain.

2. Injury or trauma: A sudden jolt or impact to the neck, such as whiplash from a car accident, can cause neck pain.

3. Arthritis: The breakdown of cartilage in the joints of the neck can lead to pain and stiffness.

4. Pinched nerve: Pressure on a nerve in the neck, often from a herniated disc, can cause pain that radiates down the arm.

To alleviate and prevent neck pain, you can:
1. See a physiotherapist for a diagnosis and receive manual therapy to alleviate the pain.

2. Maintain good posture: Keep your head and neck aligned with your spine while sitting or standing, avoiding slouching or hunching over.

3. Stretch and exercise: Regularly stretching and exercising your neck and shoulders can help keep your muscles strong and flexible.

4. Take breaks: If you spend a lot of time sitting or looking at a screen, take frequent breaks to stretch and move around.

5. Use ergonomic equipment: Make sure your workspace is set up to support good posture, with a chair and desk at the right height, and use an ergonomic keyboard and mouse.

6. Manage stress: Stress can cause tension in the neck muscles, so finding ways to manage stress, such as through meditation or exercise, can help prevent neck pain.

Plantar fasciitis is a common foot condition characterized by inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that connects the heel bone to the toes. It often causes heel pain, especially during the first steps in the morning or after prolonged periods of sitting.

To address plantar fasciitis, consider these steps:
- Rest: Give your feet a break and avoid activities that worsen the pain.

- Ice: Apply ice to the affected area to reduce inflammation.

- Stretching: Perform gentle stretches for your calf muscles and the plantar fascia to improve flexibility.

- Supportive Footwear: Choose shoes with good arch support and cushioning.

- Orthotics: Custom or over-the-counter orthotic inserts can provide additional support.

- Anti-Inflammatory Medications: Anti-inflammatory medications may help reduce pain and inflammation.

- Physiotherapy: Consult with a physiotherapist for targeted exercises and treatments.

Remember, it’s crucial to consult with a Physiotherapist for personalized advice based on your specific situation.

Whether it’s targeted exercises, stretches, or expert tips, we’ve got your back (and feet)🦶
