Today on International Women’s Day we recognise the leadership, strength and dedication of Trudy Clift, CEO of Regional Disability Support Services.

Tuesday Group Scavenger Hunt Adventures 🗺️✨

This week our crew explored Wallaroo, Kadina & Moonta on a community scavenger hunt! In Kadina they were on the lookout for the Town Hall clock, a butterfly, a train and a heritage building 🕰️🦋🚂🏛️

But this wasn’t just a fun day out 👇

✔️ Building confidence navigating the community
✔️ Strengthening social skills and teamwork
✔️ Practising problem-solving and communication
✔️ Increasing independence in community access
✔️ Working towards individual NDIS goals around social participation and capacity building

Over the past 18 months, we’ve been supporting BY (55) to access the NDIS

BY lives with an acquired brain injury after being hit by a car at just 3 years old, and incredibly, he hadn’t had a formal assessment since he was 10. Along the way there were setbacks - rejections, lost forms, and changes in Local Area Coordinators - but we kept going 💪

This was all done as in-kind support, because it mattered ❤️

A big thank you to Jonathan, OT from Flex Care, whos report helped BY finally get the outcome he deserved 🙌

His Mum (90) called to share the news and said she feels relieved knowing BY will now be supported into the future 🥹💙

These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do 🌼

We’re seeking a Compliance Manager - NDIS Funding & Billing to oversee participant funding, manage billing accuracy, and ensure our organisation remains audit-ready and aligned with NDIA requirements.

This is a senior role responsible for protecting participant funding while supporting Coordinators and Accommodation Managers to plan and deliver services within budget.

☀️ South Australia is still in for some serious heat this week, following the extreme heat over the weekend.

With high temperatures and strong winds, it’s important to take extra care and stay cool.

Please follow SA Health’s Top Tips to Beat the Heat:
💧 Drink plenty of water
🧢 Stay in the shade or indoors
🌀 Use fans or air conditioning where possible
👕 Wear light, loose clothing
🛁 Take cool showers and rest often

RDSS has an experienced male support worker (mid-40s) available in the Copper Coast area. He has a proven work history with RDSS, is easy-going, reliable, and genuinely enjoys supporting people to live well in the community.

🌙 Mon–Fri overnights 4:00pm – 7:00am
☀️ Mon–Fri 9:00am – 2:00pm
📅 Some weekend availability

🎣 Interests & strengths
Enjoys fishing, boating 🚤, working on cars 🚗, driving, and getting out and about. He’s happy to support a wide range of activities based on what each client enjoys.

🔥 The Kadina CFS rolled in this week!
On Tuesday *and* Friday our participants got to see what it’s like behind the wheel of a real firetruck! Sirens, buttons, the works. 🚒✨

We also got to have a go with the hose… and look, let’s say some of us learned very quickly that water does in fact come out very fast. 😅💦

Huge thanks to the Kadina CFS crew and our dedicated office staff for making everyone’s week. Legends! ❤️
