In addition to supporting local MA racing and drivers and pushing for great events for all, we proudly remain the Queensland member of the National Sports Sedan Council.

The QRDA is the go to home for Sports Sedan racing in Qld and Northern Rivers, and despite all other workload we don't loose sight of our role, searching for the next generation of racer and considering what needs to evolve in Sports Sedans to suit the future.

The world keeps producing more body shapes and mechanical components, so no matter if you want to race an Anglia with a Rotary engine in the bay, a replica of your hero's Supercar, or get some extra miles in your TCM car, you'll find racing for all those and more in the one place right here, your QRDA and the Sports Sedans and Invited Cars Championship.

You can't go back, though sometimes it would be good wouldn't it? But that doesn't mean we can't have fun today in old cars from the past!

We've swapped Surfers and Lakeside for QR and Morgan Park, we've switched alloy cages for steel and put much better rubber and brake pads on our cars, we've adopted the digital age and now enter events across the internet instead of mailing a letter while lap times are recorded by transponder instead of reading markings on paper tape...

But some things just don't change.

80's and 90's Sports Sedans are still cool as hell 😎

If you have one, we're looking for you. If you want one, we want to hear from you too!

No age limits here! If you want to build a spaceframe wrapped in a 2026 body shape, or strip out and then highly modify a car from this century, here we are for you, that's Sports Sedans.

But if you are a fan of 1900's motorsport, and a huge number of people are, there's no age limit on Sports Sedans and we have undoubtedly the fastest and most modified "league of legends" in the country, from Alfa GTV6s to Chevy Monzas, from RX7s and RX3s to Ford Es**rts and Holden Geminis, if there's a production sedan, coupe or hatchback that takes your fancy you can modify it a little or you can go totally bonkers with it with us.

But right now we are on the hunt. Our eNewsletter distribution list has swelled dramatically this year but there's still plenty more cars and owners to track down. There's surely a treasure trove of former race cars sitting idle in Queensland.

Have an old Sports Sedan in the shed, or an old modified or race car that would make for a good Sports Sedan? We're looking for you. Please email or dm and say hi.

Existing cars, new builds, tributes, replicas, genuine Group U historic cars, the mix of Sports Sedans we can put together in Queensland is limited almost exclusively by imagination and budget. Be a part of it today.

We've got a great little home at Geebung RSL but by surprise in January we were reminded it is little! We didn't fill the room, but it was getting there, and the table for tea was at max capacity.

The time is now to let us know if you are coming next Wednesday night, email ahead so we can prepare.

If you've not been before, DM or Email so we can fill you in, and the basics are also on the website in our Club Calendar.

Across dinner and the meeting we can catch up on the latest with members' rides, what we think of F1 and Supercars in 2026, what QR's first event of the year was like, how Morgan Park is shaping up for Round 2, talk about our role in crafting the 2027 season and what steps that will need taking during 2026, where to next with club awards and presentations in this digital world, and much more if attendees are up for it, or just leave it as a productive get together once everyone's had enough!

Mark the date, March 18th after work, Geebung RSL, table from 5:30, tea just after 6, meeting in the adjoining room from 7:15 and hook into it.

For more in-depth information on categories, be sure to follow us on Queensland Sports Sedan Racing (Modified Touring Cars) and QRDA Sports & Racing (Prototypes, Open Wheels and Production Sports Cars).

More shots of members having fun at QR a couple of weekends ago.

Geoff Gillespie in the Race Products Es**rt was dialling in a new engine and gearbox combo.

Paul Spiteri was putting some miles on his fresh power plant in the ImpProd RX7.

Craig Kasper was having his first race meeting in the Floor Pan Sports Sedan RX7.

Bruce Cook meanwhile was supreme in all weather conditions and finished all four races to sweep the points into his corner.

Next up is Morgan Park Raceway on March 27-29 as we fire up for Round 2 of the club championship. Entries are open, get them in. Spectators take note, admission is free!

John Davidson has joined us for some Floor Pan Sports Sedans racing this year in the MJ Hydraulic Pty Ltd Holden Commodore.

Supported by Royal Precision Lubricants and Tyrepower Everton Hills the 6.0 bent eight was really moving recently as we opened the year at Queensland Raceway.

Mixing it with the other Floor Pan cars as well as the fastest of the Improved Production Cars, we look forward to seeing more of John and the silver VE.

Craig Kasper joins us in 2026 and he's aboard the car first taken national racing by Graham Neilson over three decades ago, a Mazda RX7 SA22C complete with twin rotor power to get it moving.

The Falken Tyres green and blue hues from the 90s had been replaced through the years, most notably with a shade of orange for the longest time courtesy of Robert Coutts during his tenure as owner.

At Round 1 recently the new colours for the Team Kasper Racing era instead had her roll out on track with a vibrant red base and a black rear end treatment, all completed with metallic finish.

Craig arrives with a recent background in Production Ute racing among other motorsport endeavours. We're looking forward to seeing him enjoying the racing and having the Mazda back on track after years of being tucked away locally, or worse at one point, trapped in Tasmania with different owners!

The Rupert's Bar and Grill Mazda RX7 and pilot Paul Spiteri were part of the launch of the 2026 season at Queensland Raceway recently. It was the first outing on the new Bridgestone control tyre, and a fresh engine.

Finishing all four races, the red rocket is 2nd in points behind Bruce Cook for Improved Production Cars honours.

In a year where ImpProd and Sports Sedans are sharing the grid, it throws this little rotary among the V8s and sees Paul sitting 3rd in Floor Pan Sports Sedans, and 5th in Sports Sedans and Invited Cars.

We don't know which way is best to spruik that for the categories... On one hand it shows you can build a budget Sports Sedan and chase the championship based on consistent finishing, and on the other it shows ImpProd are not slow cars despite their control all-weather tyres!

Our next event is coming up fast, March 27-29 at Morgan Park Raceway ~ spectators are free, so bring a whole crew for a look at Improved Production Cars racing along with a packed program of Motorsport Australia categories.

We had a number of new additions to QRDA Sports & Racing in Formula 3, Formula Ford and Formula Ford 1600 on the weekend, but there was also a decent dose of new faces in our Queensland Sports Sedan Racing as well.

Making a splash was Jonathon King in the big yellow Walky, starting off the front row on debut and top of the Floor Pan construction cars.

Mechanical issues brought his fun to an early end, and some deep dive diagnostics are immanent to see what's wrong and what work is needed for a fix.

Much like Jake Murdoch in the turbo AU, this was the first time the car ran in such long sessions, and there was plenty of learning going on that will be put to good use for future upgrades. Even though Sports Sedans run a Sprint Race format, sessions are still that bit longer and hotter than Speed Sprints and most General Practice sessions and sees cars running in closer quarters which all impacts on available cool air.

Join us in the finger crossing with Jonathon that big yellow is back on track super fast.
