I grew up living, breathing the Naturopathic principles of eating whole foods and using food as medicine. With the guidance of a Naturopath and my mother’s tenacity this was the path my parents chose for us due to our family’s health problems at the time and when conventional treatment was unable to help. Naturally this influence sparked my interest in nutrition and natural medicine and therefore saw me set off for Naturopathy school.
I have practiced Naturopathy since 1998. I have built on my experience over the years through my own practices, having worked along-side Chiropractic practitioners, other Naturopaths and bodywork therapists. I lived in the US for 4 ½ years and during my time there I worked in a Naturopathic Doctor’s clinic that specialised in Autism Spectrum Disorders. This is where I trained in Craniosacral Therapy and NAET (Nambudripads Allergy Elimination Technique).
Since moving to Canberra, I worked in a clinic along-side a Chiropractor up until our 2nd child came into our lives. I now return to practice in Civic, Canberra, at Natural Selection Health Foods.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN A CONSULTATION
In the first appointment, the persons health history is gathered in detail looking at all body systems. The diet is studied and mental emotional factors, environmental factors and possible toxicities and current treatments and medications will be taken into account. Further assessment is made through the use of Iridology, digestive function analysis and skin, tongue, face and nail signs. An initial treatment plan is devised which includes a list of dietary changes and suggestions, an initial natural medicines treatment protocol which may include a herbal medicine formulation, a vitamin/ mineral/ pro-biotic prescription and relaxation/ exercise suggestions. This appointment is for 1 hour or 1 1/2 hours, depending on the complexity of the case.
In the 2nd appointment, symptoms and the initial treatment protocol is reviewed and the treatment plan is adjusted and refined accordingly. Functional laboratory testing may be used. This appointment and following appointments tend to be 45 minutes.
Following appointments consist of the monitoring of symptom improvement and the review and adjustment of treatment protocols so as to enable the patient to regain their health in the quickest, gentlest and most effective way.
