Ever wonder why your doctor sends you for an X-rays, CT scan or an MRI?
In short:
▫️X-rays show bones and dense structures; detect fractures and infections.
▫️CT scans show detailed cross-sectional images of organs, bones, bleeding and tumours.
▫️MRI scans show high-contrast images of soft tissues, joints, brain, spine and organs.
Each type of imaging allows our Radiologist to assess a specific concern and provide a detailed report.
Your GP or specialist will know which scan is best and write this on your referral.
When you come in for your appointment, your radiographer will explain your procedure to you.
