In light of the tragic events at Bondi Beach yesterday, Australian Red Cross Lifeblood are calling on donations of blood and blood products, particularly donations from O type donors.

Today is Red Apple Day, the focus of Bowel Cancer Awareness Month and an opportunity to raise awareness for the need to 'Get Checked' regularly.

🍎 1,708 young people hear those four words ‘you have bowel cancer’ each year and sadly 288 young lives are cut short due to the disease annually.

🍎 Australia has the highest rates of early-onset bowel cancer in the world

🍎 Latest Australian research reveals 28,265 cases of aggressive types of early-onset bowel cancer over the past 30 years.

🍎 Incidence has increased by up to 8 percent per year. If this increase had been halted, an estimated 4,347 bowel cancers in young Australians would not have occurred.

The best way to treat Bowel Cancer is to get checked and find it early. If you are over 45 years, have a family history or are experiencing any of the common symptoms, speak to your GP.

Thank you to all the staff, Doctors and supporters from across Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospital, Gosford Private Hospital and Brisbane Waters Private Hospital who represented the Healthe Care team in the Bay to Bay Running Festival yesterday!🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♂️

With your support, we've been able to raise much needed funds for local charities - Central Coast Kids in Need Inc, The Glen Rehab and Breakaway - while raising awareness for better health, right here on the Central Coast!

This Sunday staff, Doctors and supporters from across Gosford Private, Brisbane Waters Private and Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospitals will be donning the coveted Healthe Care running singlet for the annual Bay to Bay Running Festival. 🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♂️

With a new Marathon event, Half Marathon, 12km, Healthe Care 5km and Kids Fun Run, it's sure to be another wonderful (but chilly) day!

If you're taking part in the event, make sure you stop by our table at the finish line in Industree Group Stadium to say hi💁 and for a quick refreshment.
