๐ Embrace Autumn ๐
As autumn rolls in, I'm loving the cooler mornings and vibrant hues of falling leaves - it's truly my favourite time of the year! Not to mention, it's my birthday season, so the connection feels even more special. ๐๐
In Kinesiology, we use the traditional Chinese 5 element wisdom, where the season of Autumn is associated with the Metal element.
Metal embodies inward and outward movement, symbolising the breath entering our lungs and exiting through our large intestine. When this flow is disrupted, we may feel sadness or an inability to let go, as grief tends to accumulate in the lungs. This can show up in our bodies as colds, allergies, constipation, stressed immune system, dry hair & skin.
To stay balanced this season, nourish your lungs and large intestines with warmth and care. Here are some tips:
๐ฒ Opt for warming foods like soups and steamed dishes
๐ง
Incorporate pungent flavours like onion, garlic and ginger
๐ Release what no longer serves you through decluttering and letting go
๐งโโ๏ธSlow down! Practice mindful movement such as Yin Yoga
๐ถโโ๏ธ Ground yourself with leisurely walks in nature
๐ Invigorate your senses with essential oils like cypress, clary sage, or eucalyptus
