Harmony Week is a special time for us at Embrace, because diversity is at the heart of care.

Australia’s care workforce is built by people from many cultures and backgrounds, with many care workers having migrated here to build a better life while also caring for others.

This Harmony Week, we are proud to celebrate David Appiah, one of our valued support workers, who migrated from Ghana to build a life for his family and to serve the community he now calls home. His wife, Anastasia, also works in care through child care, and together they represent the compassion, resilience and contribution that make our communities stronger.

At Embrace, we are grateful for David and for all the care workers from around the world who help support children, older people, and people living with disability every day.

This week, we celebrate harmony, belonging and the many people who make Australia’s care economy so special. We also wish for peace and harmony across the world.

It has been a truly special year for Embrace, and we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve the community we care so much about.

In 2025, we expanded our support into in-home aged care in partnership with Trilogy Care, delivering Home Care Packages that help older people remain independent and supported at home. We were also proud to partner with Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation Pilbara to launch the inaugural Footsteps Fair, a meaningful celebration of our Elders and the wisdom, stories, and connections they share with our community.

This year, we were honoured to be a sponsor of the International Day of People with Disability in the Pilbara organised by Pilbara Disability Network, recognising the daily challenges faced by people with disability, their perseverance in overcoming those challenges, and the commitment and resilience of the families, friends, and support workers who walk alongside them. We also enjoyed engaging with the next generation at the Year 10 Speed Careering Conversations at St Luke's College Karratha, where we spoke about careers in care and what the future of the sector looks like in an AI enabled world.

Being named The Most Outstanding Regional Disability Support Provider in Australia at the 2025 Enablement Awards was a humbling moment for our team and a reflection of our ongoing commitment to the people we support across the Pilbara.

None of this would be possible without our incredible staff, whose dedication, compassion, and commitment shine through in everything they do. We were proud to see our team represent Embrace at the Pilbara Health Ball organised by Pilbara Health Professionals Network, an event we were honoured to sponsor this year. Together, they have built and sustained strong regional partnerships that we deeply value. As we reflect on an extraordinary 2025, we look ahead to 2026 with gratitude and optimism, excited about new infrastructure and initiatives that will continue to strengthen care and connection across our region.

🌟 Footsteps Fair 2025 – A Beautiful Celebration of Our Elders 🌟

It has been a fantastic year of celebration, inclusion and embracing our community here at Embrace Healthcare. One of our proudest achievements was the inaugural Footsteps Fair, delivered in partnership with Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation Pilbara at the Ngurin Cultural Centre in Roebourne on 14 November 2025.

Held during WA Seniors Week, the Fair honoured the theme Connect, Create, Celebrate and that is exactly what we did.

The day began with a warm and heartfelt Welcome to Country by Kaylene Daniel, followed by opening remarks from Sam Watadza. From the very first moment, the spirit of community, culture and connection filled the room.

Throughout the morning, Elders and community members shared stories, wisdom and laughter through informal yarning circles, strengthening cultural ties and celebrating the knowledge of our seniors.

🌿 Event Highlights:
• Chair yoga, facilitated by Annmarie Kiernan, which started with a few giggles but quickly became a crowd favourite
• The Money Game, where Elders shared memories of work, trade and how money shaped community life
• Wellbeing checks, including blood pressure assessments and healthy ageing conversations led by our resident nurse, Kirsty Rogers
• Creative stations, including painting and storytelling
• A vibrant barbecue and delicious Indian dishes, with the chicken curry emerging as the clear favourite!

We extend our sincere thanks to Ngaarda Media for capturing Elders’ stories on film and to NYFL for generously providing the venue in kind.

🙏 We also gratefully acknowledge our funders Department of Communities Government of Western Australia, Advocare, and Lotterywest, whose support made this event possible.

The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, so much so that planning has already begun for an even bigger Footsteps Fair in Karratha and Roebourne in 2026.

💛 A heartfelt thank you to every Elder who shared their wisdom, every volunteer who gave their time, and every partner who contributed to making this celebration so special.

Here’s to many more moments of connection, culture and community. Watch this space - 2026 will be even bigger!

🌏 International Day of People with Disability – Pilbara 2025 🌏

Embrace Healthcare Solutions is proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of this year’s International Day of People with Disability (IDPWD) event in Karratha, hosted by the Pilbara Disability Network.

The International Day of People with Disability is a globally recognised day that celebrates the achievements, strengths, and contributions of people with disability. This year’s Pilbara event at the Red Earth Arts Precinct will:

• Showcase inclusive practice
• Connect people with disability to services, community groups, and employers

🌿 Walk Together, Share Stories, Celebrate Connection 🌿

Join us at The Footsteps Fair - a day of culture, connection, and community at the Ngurin Cultural Centre, Roebourne, on Friday, 14 November 2025 (9:00 am – 12:00 pm).

Begin the morning with a heartfelt Welcome to Country by Kaylene Daniels and a joyful children’s performance before setting off to Walk the Trail: “Before and Now.”

Along the trail, explore six stations that celebrate our shared journey — from traditional wisdom to our multicultural present:

🎨 Painting Boards & Storyline – Create art and hear stories from our Elders.
🍲 Food: Then and Now – Taste the past and present with bush foods, a community BBQ, and shared plates.
💰 The Money Game – Learn, laugh, and reflect on how trade and community shaped our lives.
