A very merry Karrinyup and Marmion Christmas Party on the weekend 🎄🎅🏽

There’s nothing better than wrapping up the year with our amazing team with a friendly (competitive) arvo of games (won by Wes!), followed by dinner and drinks. We’re so lucky to have a group that genuinely enjoy being together and supporting one another.

A huge thank you to every member of the Karrinyup and Marmion Physio team for your dedication, hard work and the care you bring to our clients and community every single day. This year has been a big one and we’re proud of everything we’ve achieved.

Here’s to 2026 and everything to come!

PERKINS PLUNGE 2025 🏊🏼‍♂️
On the weekend, Paul took part in this incredible event. A 12-hour relay swim from 6pm to 6am, pushing through the night.

Paul’s team collectively raised $22,000, with Paul raising $1,000 individually. This contributed to more than $300,000 raised for the Harry Perkins Institute — an organisation that means a lot to Paul after losing his cousin to brain cancer five years ago.

Some words from Paul;

“Swimming in shifts through the night, hearing people share their stories, and watching everyone dig deep with barely any sleep… it was surreal. The sense of camaraderie, resilience, and purpose was something I’ll never forget. I am so grateful to have been a part of it.”

Lately our weekly education sessions have centred around complex case studies, with each physio stepping up to present a current case. It’s a great way to learn from each other, collaborate and keep growing as a team. This also provides an opportunity for reflecting on and reviewing our practice, ensuring best outcomes for our patients!

Next Challenge! 🏊‍♂️💪
On November 22nd, Paul will be taking part in the a 12-hour overnight charity swim (6pm–6am) at HBF Stadium. This event raises funds for the Harry Perkins Institute, supporting life-changing research into cancer, heart disease, and rare genetic disorders.

Paul has currently raised $900 himself, with an incredible team from Mineral Resources contributing $14,353 so far!

A huge thanks to the KPC staff, patients and friends for the support, encouragement and donations so far. This event is set to be a fun night for an amazing cause!

PERTH RUNNING FESTIVAL 2025
A big congratulations to our Physio’s who ran in the Perth Running Festival on the weekend. A shout out to Katie and Jarrad who ran the half marathon, Belinda in the 4km, and to Paul who smashed out his second marathon!! Some words from Paul:

“Perth Marathon done and dusted! It was a tough one; hot conditions, cramping legs, and a stubborn adductor tendinopathy made it a real grind. Finished in 4:20 and absolutely cooked, but that’s marathon number two in the bag!!

Time to recover, rebuild strength, and get back into the Pilates studio to work on glutes, core, and those tendons!”

Congratulation team and also to all our clients who took part on Sunday! 🏃🏻🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️

Monday motivation!!
Here is Paul with one of his patient’s David.

In 2 weeks, David takes on the Chicago Marathon—one of the world majors!

5 years ago, he was told he’d never run again due to crippling back pain. Now? He’s lining up for his 5th marathon, chasing a sub-3:30.

🔑 His secret: consistent physio-based strength, mobility, yoga + Pilates.
👟 Shoes: Asics Metaspeed Sky
🍫 Fuel: GU Chocolate Outrage
🎶 Playlist: From Motley Crüe to Charli XCX

Big picture? He’s on a mission to complete all 7 world marathon majors. 🌍✨

Good luck David, we’re all behind you cheering you on!

Need some motivation and inspiration? Read Paul’s story below about his running journey and how it has lit a fire within himself.

“Two years ago, I was unfit—just the odd 5km Park Run. Then my work crew signed up for the 12km HBF. That goal, and having a team, lit a fire in me.

From there, running became a passion. I pushed into half marathons, made mistakes, learned a lot—and got inspired watching friends finish full marathons. I knew I had to try.

A big motivation was personal—my dad passed away from a heart attack at 62. I turned 50 last year and knew it was time to take control of my health. Not saying a marathon is the answer for everyone—but movement, purpose, and community make a difference.

I trained hard. Completed tough races like Hurt to Help in the outback heat. Crushed a 1:49 PB at HBF. My mate Julian coached me and helped build the plan. I was ready. Bravehearts 777 became the goal.

Race day was surreal—crisp, cool, perfect. I aimed for sub-4 hours and held strong for 30km. But at 34km, fatigue hit. At 37, the wall. My legs screamed, but I didn’t stop. One step at a time—I crossed that line.

I collapsed in full-body cramp. Medics helped. Then Julian handed me my medal. That moment meant everything.

This journey has changed me. If my story inspires even one person to chase a goal—then it’s been worth sharing.”
