Crystal Sound & Light Institute offers training in Sound Therapy with crystal bowls and Crystal Ther

The Karyna Centre for Transformation was created in 1994 by Susie Nelson-Smith, the Director and has been a College dedicated to teaching professional, accredited training and study programs and a Centre for private healing consultations. Recently the College part of The Karyna Centre has taken on the name of the Crystal Sound and Light Institute to actively reflect its specialities. Susie was invited by Crystal Tones, the USA innovative company that creates and makes Alchemy and classic crystal bowls to establish the first Crystal Bowl Temple in Australia. It is now possible to visit the Centre by appointment and view, play and listen to a selection of Alchemy, classic and therapeutic clear crystal singing bowls and purchase if you wish. For those unable to visit the Centre, an online shop has been created where you can purchase your own crystal bowl and experience directly the sacred healing sounds. Alchemy, classic and therapeutic clear crystal singing bowls and accessories are available as well as crystals and gems sourced from around the world; healing and meditation CDs; and unique objects for creating sacred space and mandalas. Our purpose is to promote and support the awareness, study and practice of refined energetic healing and spiritual practices and to assist World Servers to serve humanity. Philosophy

The Karyna Centre is dedicated to serving the healing process of humanity by assisting people to expand and realise their natural gifts in a vibrational resonance that both supports and guides each person to activate the highest octave within. All teaching programs and therapeutic healing sessions are offered from the understanding that each person knows themself better than anyone else and all our work helps facilitate that knowingness.

Some people who come to this work enjoy having something they can return to at home; a thoughtful companion for reflection and inner listening.

Alongside my sound recordings, I have also written a small book called One Heart Affirmations. These affirmations were inspired by years of working with people in sessions and consultations, and many have found them to be gentle guides during times of change or reflection.

The recordings can be used for meditation and relaxation, while the affirmations offer words that help bring the heart and mind back into alignment.

Those of us who feel safe and supported right now have a beautiful opportunity to hold space for those who are frightened, uncertain, or suffering. One simple, powerful way we can do this is by coming together in meditation and prayer.
When we gently shift our own inner state - from worry or despair into gratitude, calm, and hope - we ripple that energy outward. It matters more than we often realise. Each of us contributes to the collective energy of this world.
I’ve created a short video to share a simple, symbolic practice you can do at home. In it, I place a Chrysocolla–Malachite specimen or cabochon on a quartz crystal cluster. The quartz cluster represents the collective consciousness of humanity - many individual points growing together from a shared base, just as we are all connected. The Chrysocolla–Malachite, with its beautiful Earth-like colours, represents our planet as seen from space.
When we bring these together with intention, we are symbolically holding the Earth within the unified field of human consciousness - infusing it with peace, harmony, and healing.
I invite you to join me in a daily practice of activating peace - sending it out into the ether with intention, compassion, and love. In times of turbulence and uncertainty, this is something we can do. This is how we participate in change.
Can one person really make a difference? Yes - deeply so. And when we come together, our impact grows exponentially: 1…10…100…1,000,000… and beyond.
If you feel called, you might also incorporate sound. Crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, or Japanese metal bowls can help amplify and carry these vibrations of peace even further.
Together, let’s create a field of calm, healing, and unity - for ourselves, for each other, and for our beautiful Earth 🌏

My Story

My life's work is about ‘heart and mind’ connection and activation

The transformation of the heart and mind through the channelling of vibrational energy. The effects of this focus are ultimately balance and harmony on all energetic levels. This creates a clearer perspective on life and the life-forces that guide us on our pathway. Everything in the universe resonates to its own frequency.

Using the resonance of crystals and gems and the powerful frequencies generated through Crystal Singing Bowls, strong and beautiful environments are created that promote healing, balance and transformation.

I have studied the combined healing powers of crystals and sound and I now have a blessed life passing on my knowledge through teaching, writing and performance. The Crystal Sound and Light Institute, has been created as a resource that provides everything a student needs to learn and practice this powerful, universal, fundamental form of transformation.
