It’s good to get into the habit of mindful eating and drinking - being aware of what you are putting into your body. In saying that, you don’t want to eat and drink at the same time. There are multiple reasons for that, but specifically you don’t want to stretch your stomach or make it uncomfortable for yourself.

It is recommended that you don’t drink 20 minutes prior to eating and then after you eat, you wait a further 20-40 minutes before you drink again.

It’s a good time to start being mindful of drinking water throughout the day. Even in winter and this cold weather we’ve been having, make sure you keep drinking water.

Keeping hydrated is vital - pre and post surgery.
