Our Golden Age Aged Care community came together for a heartfelt morning tea in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. πŸ’—πŸŽ€

Residents and staff proudly wore pink and raised an incredible $420 through the sale of pink ribbons, bookmarks, and a raffle. It was a wonderful opportunity for our residents to remain part of the community, as well as an opportunity to be educated about women's cancers and how impactful this can be their lives.

Thank you to all our residents and staff for supporting such an important cause!

Our Fairhaven Maryborough Aged Care recently had an extra fun afternoon participating in all things Oktoberfest! πŸ₯¨

Residents sampled German food including apple strudel, German ginger biscuits and non-alcoholic beer. There was an apple peeling competition along with traditional German songs. A residents' son kindly brought in lederhosen pants which were a lovely touch!

This was a great opportunity for our residents to stay engaged, celebrate and learn about other cultures and get together for an afternoon of fun. Thank you to those who brought the afternoon to light for our residents. πŸ™Œ

Stanthorpe Aged Care recently came alive with the sights, sounds and flavours of Korea, as our dedicated Korean staff and members of the local Korean Church transformed the space into a vibrant pop-up restaurant.

Residents were treated to a sensory journey through Korean culture, enjoying traditional dishes, music, and sharing stories that celebrated heritage and connection.

It was a joyful day of cultural exchange, reminding us that care goes beyond comfort, it’s about honouring the diverse backgrounds that shape our community. We’re proud to embrace and celebrate the richness of every culture that walks through our doors.

Our Fairhaven Aged Care residents had the pleasure of joining the Country Women's Association (CWA) Seniors Month Morning Tea at the Tiaro Community Centre. Fair Haven has a long-standing connection with the CWA, and are grateful that this beautiful tradition continues today.

The CWA ladies welcomed residents with open arms and the morning tea was nothing short of spectacular. Two of our residents were lucky enough to win gorgeous bunches of flowers. Don't they look lovely? 🌼

The entertainment was provided by a talented local group, "Man Song", which added a joyful soundtrack to the morning. Thank you to the Tiaro CWA for your hospitality, keeping our residents connected to the community and for hosting the wonderful morning tea. πŸ’›

Anyone been missing the footy lately? Every year, our Golden Age Aged Care residents participate in their own footy tipping competition for both the AFL and NRL. It is a great opportunity for our residents to maintain their hobbies and interests as well as a great conversation starter with their fellow residents.

Congratulations to John and Max who were our lucky winners this year! πŸ…πŸˆ

Today is Grandparent's Day.

Grandparents Day recognises the contribution grandparents make to families, communities, and the economy. It's a day for Queenslanders to say β€˜thank you’ to their grandparents for their care and support and for sharing their knowledge, experience, and traditions with younger generations.

A child's interactions with their grandparent are often their first interactions with an older person. Good relationships between grandparents and young people help create and foster positive attitudes toward ageing and older people.

How are you celebrating Grandparents Day?

Feel good Friday! 🎢

When our wonderful resident Lorraine won a voucher for a Karaoke Party, she generously donated it to Fair Haven Aged Care, with one cheeky condition: the staff had to provide some of the entertainment. And wow, did they deliver!

The residents were treated to ABBA, Jonny Cash, Kenny Rogers, John Denver and more!

The event was full of laughter, music, and unforgettable memories. Thank you Lorraine for your generosity and our brave staff for stepping up to the mic! πŸŽ€πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί

Our Golden Age Aged Care recently had a cultural food day, and this time it was Italian! πŸ•πŸ½οΈ

Residents enjoyed Italian cuisine along with traditional music to suit the occasion. It was a wonderful experience enjoyed by residents and staff, and a great opportunity to recognise and acknowledge the diverse cultures within our communities.

What cuisine should our staff prepare next?
