Respiratory SA are to pleased to welcome Dr Maxter (Max) Thai to our practice. Dr Thai will be consulting on Tuesdays, beginning 31st March 2026
Dr Maxter Thai is a Respiratory Physician and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He is committed to provide comprehensive care across the full spectrum of respiratory disorders including chronic airway diseases such as asthma and COPD, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary infections and bronchiectasis, lung cancer and pleural disorders.
Dr Thai received his medical degree from the University of Queensland and completed his basic physician training on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, before undertaking advanced respiratory training in South Australia.
He is committed to patient-centred care, with a focus on clear communication and timely diagnosis and management. Dr Thai is skilled in bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), and pleural procedures. He performs his bronchoscopic and pleural procedures at Calvary Adelaide Hospital. He also holds admission and consulting rights at Calvary Adelaide Hospital and Ashford Hospital.
He is a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ). In addition to his clinical practice, he holds an academic appointment as a Clinical Lecturer with the University of Adelaide.
