With an extreme heat event forecast, weβre encouraging everyone to take heat safety seriously: stay well hydrated π§, minimise time outdoors during the hottest part of the day π , and check in on vulnerable community members, including older people, children and pets.

It's going to be a hot week in the Gannawarra, with maximum temperatures to surpass 40 degrees tomorrow, Thursday and Friday.
There are some simple steps you can take to beat the heat. These include drinking plenty of water and staying cool by seeking out air-conditioned buildings.
If you need to head out, schedule activities to the coolest part of the day. However, if you are heading outdoors, seek shade, when possible, wear a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen and avoid exercising in the heat.
Residents and visitors can also visit any of the following venues to keep cool:
π Gannawarra Library Service's branches, with its Cohuna branch open 10am-4pm daily and its Kerang branch open 10am-6pm tomorrow, Thursday and Friday.
π The Cohuna and Kerang swimming pools, which will be open from 11am-7pm daily.
π¬ Northern District Community Health βs Cohuna and Kerang offices, which will be open from 10am-4pm daily.
π₯ The Cohuna Neighbourhood House, which will be open 9am-3pm daily, with a movie playing at 1pm tomorrow, Thursday and Friday.
π Northaven Kerang, which will be open from 9am-6pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for people looking for a cool and comfortable space.
