🧡 Gannawarra Goes Orange & Loddon Lights Up Orange is in full swing!

As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Family & Gender-Based Violence, our communities are coming together to raise awareness, have meaningful conversations, and stand united to say “NO” to Family Violence.

So far, we’ve seen strong support through the Walk Against Family Violence in Kerang and Boort, important discussions at local morning teas, and the distribution of morning tea room kits to local businesses to help spark important conversations.

The campaign continues next week with Story Time sessions that challenge gender stereotypes:

• Tuesday 2 December – 1.00pm | Leitchville Library
• Wednesday 3 December – 10.30am | Sir John Gorton Library, Kerang
• Thursday 4 December – 10.30am | Cohuna Library

We encourage everyone to get involved, wear orange, attend an event and help spread the message of respect, safety and equality throughout our community.

As we honour this important campaign, we reaffirm our shared commitment to creating a future where we all feel safe, equal and respected.

🧡 Walk Against Family Violence – 16 Days of Activism 🧡

We’re proud to stand alongside Gannawarra Shire Council and our wider community for this year’s Walk Against Family Violence. Every year, more and more people show up, walk together, and take a stand—and that growing support sends a powerful message.

Family violence remains excruciatingly high across Australia, with women continuing to be disproportionately affected. Raising awareness, showing solidarity, and standing up publicly does make a difference. Change begins with communities who refuse to stay silent.

Join us as we walk, reflect, and call for a safer future for everyone.

We had a wonderful morning at Murrabit Playgroup yesterday, joined by the Prep–Grade 3 students from Murrabit Group School!

Rachel and Chomper will be popping up again this week — catch us on Wednesday at Kerang Storytime and Friday at Lake Charm Playgroup.

Come along for a fun-filled session of reading, exploring, and taste-testing a rainbow of fruits and veggies. We’d love to see you there!

Today is World Diabetes Day.

This year’s focus reminds us that diabetes doesn’t pause during work hours. With 7 in 10 people living with diabetes being of working age, it’s more important than ever to understand the challenges people face, from unhealthy work environments to balancing self-care on busy days.

At NDCH, we’re proud to support our community with a skilled team of clinicians. A big shout-out to Alex and Demi, who play an important role in helping clients manage and understand their diabetes.

We’re standing with our community for Gannawarra Goes Orange 🧡

The Gannawarra will be uniting between Tuesday, 25 November and Wednesday, 10 December for the annual Gannawarra Goes Orange campaign.

Now in its ninth year, Council, Northern District Community Health, the Rotary Club of Kerang and other agencies are uniting to call out gender-based violence and encourage a future where everyone is safe, respected, and equal.

Highlights of the 16-day program include:
🚶🏼‍♀️The annual Walk Against Violence, beginning at Kerang's Atkinson Park on Wednesday, 26 November at 10.30am and finishing in Victoria Square.
📚 Special Gannawarra Library Service Story Time sessions, occurring at the Leitchville Library on Tuesday, 2 December at 1pm, Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Wednesday, 3 December at 10.30am, and the Cohuna Library on Thursday, 4 December at 10.30am.
🔸 Lighting up key Council and community assets orange during the 16 days.
☕ Local cafes incorporating 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence messaging on their take-away coffee cups.
