Fats aren’t something to fear– they are one of the key macronutrients for good reason!

Diet culture spent years convincing us to avoid fat, but it’s actually an essential nutrient that supports brain function, hormone production, energy, and the absorption of important vitamins (A, D, E and K). It also helps meals feel more satisfying.

Including fats regularly can help you feel more nourished and satisfied, rather than constantly searching for something else to eat.

Some of our favourite ways to include them:
🥑 avocado on toast or in bowls
🥜 snacking on trail mix or nut butter in smoothies
🫒 cooking with olive oil
🐟 fatty fish like salmon or tuna (great in pastas!)
🌻 seeds added to yoghurt, oats or salads

(And of course, store-bought is fine too because some brains don't want to cooperate)

Building inclusive futures for women and girls isn’t just about innovation, it’s about access, opportunity and power!

When education, policy, funding and leadership align, women don’t just participate in change- they shape it. Closing gaps in skills, representation and investment isn’t optional. It’s foundational. 💪💚

This article outlines why we spend so much time with the people we support supporting them to develop skills and tools to understand their nervous system and develop tools to return to a parasympathetic nervous system state.

Nature Reviews Endocrinology: Chronic disturbances in autonomic regulation are increasingly recognized as contributors to metabolic diseases such as obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus. This Review discusses bidirectional communication between the autonomic nervous system and peripheral tissues in the coordination of glucose and lipid metabolism as well as emerging therapies targeting autonomic pathways.

So, what do we think about BMI?

This is something we get asked all the time.

Firstly, bodies naturally come in a wide range of shapes and sizes and that diversity is not a problem to fix!

Two people can have the same BMI and completely different health experiences. A higher BMI doesn’t automatically mean poor health, and a lower BMI doesn’t guarantee wellbeing.

That’s why we take a holistic, weight-inclusive approach. Weight-centred care can oversimplify health, miss important signs, increase stigma, and push unsustainable dieting behaviours.

BMI may still show up in medical spaces…but it doesn’t have to define your health journey. You’re allowed to question it, opt out of weight-focused conversations, and ask for care that aligns with your values. ✨
