You are not alone.

For more information or to register click the link in the comments. Space is limited.

Binge eating is very common but people rarely ever talk about it. People often feel ashamed or embarrassed about binge eating but Brigid is a warm compassionate group facilitator to help you feel comfortable and safe in a small group of people who share a similar experience.

Growing evidence that focusing on weight and weight loss is not necessary. When we focus on heathy habits, in this case healthy eating, we can improve our health.

A side note: This study demonstrates that eating in line with a Mediterranean style diet improves health and longevity. This ‘diet’ is not focused on eating less etc it is a flexible way of eating including mostly fruits, vegetables, whole grains, dairy, olive oil and fish. A good reminder that how we eat is important and carbohydrates and not ‘bad’ for us.

People who were overweight or obese who followed a Mediterranean-style diet were less likely to die from any cause than people in the "normal" weight range who didn't, a large, long-term study finds.

Eating disorders certainly do thrive in isolation.

If you are struggling with eating and body image issues please talk to your GP or call an experienced healthcare provider.

Recovery is possible.

Helpline says lockdown stress and anxiety, along with changes to routine, have led to a spike in eating disorders and body image concerns.

I have been wanting to offer talks and workshops again but I found myself stuck procrastinating about the best way to do it. So... I am trialling Zoom and offering a free live webinar for a small number of people who are willing to attend and give me feedback on their experience.

If you are fed up with dieting and are interested in a new approach to eating (important point: the goal is not weight loss) check out the details below.

I haven’t posted here for months but lately I am overwhelmed by the harmful messages I see shared so casually even comically.

Messages telling us that we should fear gaining weight more than we should fear corona virus or depression from social isolation. Messages that reinforce the belief that our worth is determined by our weight.

Today is international No Diet Day. It’s time we all said no more. Enough. If not for ourselves then for our children.

Thank you to the Butterfly Foundation for this reminder of the harm that can begin with dieting

A beautiful painting and message. Love the skin that you’re in.

A beautiful painting and message.

Love the skin that you’re in.

Enjoy friendship, sunshine and the Bank Holiday Weekend

Three good friends went for a swim
The one who was fat wished she was thin.
The one she was curvy wished she was clever.
The one who was clever wished she swam better
The really great swimmer wished she was witty
The one who was witty wished she was pretty
All 3 friends thought the other 2 were just fine
If only they could let their own bright light shine
So throw on your swimsuit if you're fat or you're thin
Enjoy fun and friendship .... love the skin that you're in
