The magic and intelligence of Fascia:

Our Fascia is one large connective tissue network that weaves large areas of our body together. As I learn more about it, Its function and intelligence continues to blow my mind. Fascia is very alive. It is now understood to be one of our richest sensory organs. It communicates within our internal environment and is in direct relationship with our external environment.

In our internal environment it is intimate with so many other systems in our body ~ for example our immune system, therefore can influence our inflammatory state. And our lymphatic system, therefore can influence our body’s ability to detoxify.

It is in constant communication with our external environment due to its nature and cellular make up. It is sensitive to light, sound and frequency. Remembering it’s a body wide network, it acts like an antenna, emitting and receiving information, vital to our health and wellbeing.

Our bodies are not machines with moving separate part, we are so much more than that! To understand how are body’s are made and how they function is so empowering as this knowledge leads to understanding how treatments, personal practices and daily routines can help your internal world function with more coherence, which leads to a more harmonious relationship to the external world around us.

Chiropractic treatment influences this incredibly intelligent system of our body and Yogic practices give you the opportunity to bring more awareness, aliveness and Tools to help this powerful system of the body. Your Fascia’s ability to function at its potential directly influences your body proprioception (your bodies ability to sense its own position and movement) and sense of embodiment.

This really is such a big topic with so much importance, as it unites our whole body! To learn more about this or work with me please do not hesitate to contact me via email or DM. See the link in the Bio ✨

This Tuesday, the 15th of October I will return to offer a Slow flow yoga practice at the Kilcunda community hall.

My personal yoga practice has taken many forms in way of depth, intensity and style in the last 15 years. By far the most profound experiences I have had with my yoga practice occurred when I started taking a more devotional lens to a consistent practice of yoga. Yogic practices encourage us to draw our awareness from the external world around us and direct it inward.

To imbue anything with love makes it sacred. - to make our bodies a sacred space for our mind and energy to rest - it helps to cultivate a devotional attitude towards it, through the way we view our bodies and the way we treat them. Without the magic of love it’s an empty gesture.

I believe adding a devotional lens to be essential for the modern human to help us sink into our true selves. To extend the love we give outwardly to others inwardly and feel how this loving attention shone inside can evoke an energy that is sustainable and ever renewable inside of us.

In my own experience and in working with patients, a common thread I see in our human experience is, that Having the energy to look after our health and wellbeing sustainably can be elusive. We often can feel it in action within us in short spurts. A big focus of my own practice has been on how do we cultivate sustainable energy? and then how do we hold it?
Our vital life force is dynamic, it’s fluid, it’s our currency ~ so once we feel it action, how do we renew it? How do we make it a sustainable force in our health journey?

If you are curious come and join me to experience how Breath, movement and meditation can influence your bodies expression of energy✨

“it is in the heart where the pairs of opposites are digested and and burned. It is in the heart that the melting and inner recognition of the light takes place.”
~ Abhinavagupta, Kashmir philosopher

This week has marked 3 years that I have providing hands on chiropractic care in Kilcunda. It has been a privilege to see the community grow within and around the Kilcunda chiropractic space ✨

I would like to extend my heart felt gratitude to all the patients and health professional colleagues that have referred a family member, friend or colleague. It is the greatest compliment we can receive and I appreciate the confidence you have in the care that I give.

This year I have also expanded the way I have been working with patients by offering a chance to practice Yoga with me in a group setting. I am incredibly passionate about offering my patients and the community possibilities and practices to empower you on your health and healing journey, beyond the adjustment.
Yoga offers us the chance to bring more awareness to our Body, mind and energy. It helps us build a more intimate relationship within our inner world. When we take the time to notice and experience our inner world via Movement, meditation and our Breath we have the chance to tap into our internal feedback systems guidance, improve our sense of embodiment and reveal where we may have been running on Autopilot.

If you would like to work with me ~
Chiropractic care is available with me on:
Mondays 9am - 5.30pm
Wednesdays 9am - 7pm
Fridays 9am - 3pm
~ Bookings are available through the link in the Bio.

Practice Yoga in a group setting with me at Kilcunda community Hall:
Tuesdays at 6pm ~ Slow Flow Yoga is a 75 minute practice running from Tuesday the 15th of October through to the 17th of December.

If you would like to join me please DM with any questions or to book 🤍

Join me Tuesdays at 6pm in Kilcunda for a Slow Flow yoga practice.

These practices have been designed with the aim of offering possibilities and ideas that put you in touch with your body’s own inner wisdom ~ your own innate intelligence.

When our energy and awareness is always directed to the external world or material world, we cannot hear our internal feedback system’s guidance.

Breath, meditation and movement offer us ways to understand our own inner landscape at any given moment. These practices also put us in touch with the power of directing our awareness inward. These practices are the ultimate form of self care and self love.

My experience with my own practice, health and healing journey and what I have seen when working with patients is ~ that where we do not give or send our awareness too, in our body, is often where dysfunction/dis-ease can begin and where injury can occur. Bringing awareness and aliveness to our entire body and being helps improve our sense of embodiment.

“When in meditation, we turn that blessed attention on ourselves, we nourish ourselves profoundly. In human attention there is love, luminous intelligence and energy. It has more vitamins than vitamins, more protein than protein and more restorative power than the latest new remedy. Awareness itself is the most nourishing substance in creation.”
~ Swami Shankarananda from his book Consciousness is Everything.

What is on offer from a Breath practice!

I have found the breath offers me so many possibilities. Attaching my loving awareness to my breath can make it an anchor in my life when I feel anxious or overwhelmed.
To use it as tool under my command it can help me shift my energy and release tension.

Connecting my breath with movement gives expression to a yoga pose. It gives it life!

It is thread between the external world and my internal world - an invisible flow of communication.

My breath gives me feedback about my internal world and also allows me space to integrate and feel.

Attaching our heart felt awareness to our breath is the ultimate form of self love and nourishment for the Body, mind and soul✨

If you would like to explore the possibilities of a breath practice, join me for a Beginners Flow on Tuesdays at 4.30pm at Soulspace
