The magic and intelligence of Fascia:

Our Fascia is one large connective tissue network that weaves large areas of our body together. As I learn more about it, Its function and intelligence continues to blow my mind. Fascia is very alive. It is now understood to be one of our richest sensory organs. It communicates within our internal environment and is in direct relationship with our external environment.

In our internal environment it is intimate with so many other systems in our body ~ for example our immune system, therefore can influence our inflammatory state. And our lymphatic system, therefore can influence our body’s ability to detoxify.

It is in constant communication with our external environment due to its nature and cellular make up. It is sensitive to light, sound and frequency. Remembering it’s a body wide network, it acts like an antenna, emitting and receiving information, vital to our health and wellbeing.

Our bodies are not machines with moving separate part, we are so much more than that! To understand how are body’s are made and how they function is so empowering as this knowledge leads to understanding how treatments, personal practices and daily routines can help your internal world function with more coherence, which leads to a more harmonious relationship to the external world around us.

Chiropractic treatment influences this incredibly intelligent system of our body and Yogic practices give you the opportunity to bring more awareness, aliveness and Tools to help this powerful system of the body. Your Fascia’s ability to function at its potential directly influences your body proprioception (your bodies ability to sense its own position and movement) and sense of embodiment.

This really is such a big topic with so much importance, as it unites our whole body! To learn more about this or work with me please do not hesitate to contact me via email or DM. See the link in the Bio ✨

This Tuesday, the 15th of October I will return to offer a Slow flow yoga practice at the Kilcunda community hall.

My personal yoga practice has taken many forms in way of depth, intensity and style in the last 15 years. By far the most profound experiences I have had with my yoga practice occurred when I started taking a more devotional lens to a consistent practice of yoga. Yogic practices encourage us to draw our awareness from the external world around us and direct it inward.

To imbue anything with love makes it sacred. - to make our bodies a sacred space for our mind and energy to rest - it helps to cultivate a devotional attitude towards it, through the way we view our bodies and the way we treat them. Without the magic of love it’s an empty gesture.

I believe adding a devotional lens to be essential for the modern human to help us sink into our true selves. To extend the love we give outwardly to others inwardly and feel how this loving attention shone inside can evoke an energy that is sustainable and ever renewable inside of us.

In my own experience and in working with patients, a common thread I see in our human experience is, that Having the energy to look after our health and wellbeing sustainably can be elusive. We often can feel it in action within us in short spurts. A big focus of my own practice has been on how do we cultivate sustainable energy? and then how do we hold it?
Our vital life force is dynamic, it’s fluid, it’s our currency ~ so once we feel it action, how do we renew it? How do we make it a sustainable force in our health journey?

If you are curious come and join me to experience how Breath, movement and meditation can influence your bodies expression of energy✨
