Your soft tissue, breath and bones are how you and I will communicate.
Your expression or performance, your biology, your genetics, your identity, your diagnosis, your training or practices or your nervous system; are not what bring you into balance.

Feeling physically safe within your own skin, will give your nervous system freedom to release the tensions that are pulling you out of balance.

Tensions cause pain, organ dysfunction, a racing mind, emotional instability, irritability, fear, anxiety, exhaustion.

You are not aware you are holding tensions unnecessarily, they are survival states that numb you and that you are numb to, even if you are experiencing pain.

You are welcome here, experiencing yourself as the perfection that you already are, when they stop comparing yourself to others, when you take a moment out from diminishing your brilliance by trying to achieve what is successful, good, correct and acceptable by some body else's standards.

In the blog I use my own breath experience 8 years into my tension releasing and internal safe space expansion, and how it appeared to take everything away.

Overwhelmed, anxious or panic attacks… I’ve been there!
It is horrible not being able to cope, or loosing your s**t in situations & infront of others.

The same tension that is reducing your capacity to respond without losing yourself is the same tension that is causing physical pain, making you twitchy, stimming, or clicking your joints or back bone.

So learning how to release these tensions improves how you physically feel as well as how your mental health is.

The best bit about Maia Movement is there is no new technique to remember in situations where you are already feeling the stress.

I know how scary it is when your breath feels desperate and wrong.

So we do something to change our breath, we force it to be slower, deeper, we count it...

What I now know is that "controlling our breath" distracts us and masks what is actually happening. This is why when we forget to control our breath, and the masking effect wears off, we go back to feeling breathless.

When you know how to create physical safety within your body, you can interrupt and walk away from this cycle.

Starting with HOW YOU REST, you create physical safety that is missing when you simply lie down in your bed, on your couch or tucked up in your favourite coping way.

You begin to create moments of your day where your breath naturally deepens because your nervous system recognises you are physically safe.

After you have learnt how to REST, which improves your energy, you begin to explore MOVEMENT AT REST, then REST IN MOTION... the 3 Stages of Maia Movement...

The 3 Pillars are Your Unique Breath (and the way it is moving right now), Your Range of Motion and Your Dynamic Posture.

Immediately you become judgement free observation, the vibration of compassion and authenticity, you can only be honest, and this state becomes ever expanding...

You become the opposite of the expected ageing cycle
You become the opposite of being on a healing journey

The body never lies, and through simply feeling your body you become your own greatest expert... but first we have to stop the masking caused by controlling our breath.

This is super funny… but highlights why I love what I have become over the past 17 years… and why I share for you in

I used to be a supplement queen, believing all the other stuff she lists… now I’m none of it and I am healthier & more stable in all aspects, plus no longer having my autoimmune diagnosis (incurable thyroid dysfunction)

Basically I stopped doing anything to improve my health or well being… BUT … there is a big but…

I started unravelling all the tension that causes the need for all these things… call it fascia, call it muscle tension… whateverzzz

Once you release it circulation improves… including hormonal and chemical information, feedback loops and responses.

But this chick is hilarious…
Remember, I’m 46, deep in perimenopause, no longer managing a thyroid dysfunction, not taking any medications or supplements, have great bone density (I didn’t at 35yrs…) gut functions, emotions way steadier and awesome, mind doing its thing observed with love (who said there are no negative or positive, but thinking makes it so, possible information regurgitation issues )

I know my body holds the answer to this...
Mentally all I needed was to stop judging and wanting to change my body, because however that is expressed from you, it means you are not happy with what you have right now.

I do this physically by respecting my own range of motion in each step I take.

In the beginning this means we are walking with really small steps, really slowly, because we cannot feel what we are subconsciously doing.

When we walk without respect for our range of motion, we are irritating that which has passed, which keeps the fear of that which is coming active.
We know this to be true when we are experiencing ongoing pain, or the need for ongoing practices or therapies to keep us functioning, or maintenance treatments. And these issues can be physical/mental/emotional/physical.

Until you can respect your own range of motion in each step you take, then every step you take is doing you physical damage and affecting your emotions, busying your mind and muddying your spirit.

Inspired to podcast, as last week I was told by a client that I don't know how the nervous system works.

Yet, with my knowing, I have transformed myself from malfunctioning organs, pain and exhaustion; to be:
😴comfortable, sleeping or resting well
⚡balanced energy
💪🏼effortless strength
🌲able to work hard in my yard all day without being destroyed, or needing recovery
🧞perfect breath every moment
🌟able to see the universe and all it's intricate glories within me, without the need of stimulants
🧐able to live in this world with ease, without the need of gadgets and special technology

They stood in front of me, in pain, not coping, dependent on EMF neutralising gadgets, diets, exercises, microdosing, psychedelics, wearing jandals/thongs, spending time in work boots & trainers and they told me I don't know how our systems and aspects integrate.

I was a little confused, they had just paid me for my services which are all about the nervous system and the breath.

I do not manage disease, I no longer have the issues, nor do I age with the hereditary problems I did have.

I live life on my own, not by choice and I don't think it is healthy, and the last 3 years have quite possibly been the most stressful and exhausting as I have dragged my way back from nothing financially, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

Range of Motion (one of the pillars) is how far a joint can move through its range BEFORE it pulls on another area of your body, or your lock down another area of your body to push through. Ignoring our physical boundaries might give us the high of stretching and doing something good, but they simply drain us of energy and unground us.

When I first started exploring this, I could not feel my body, let alone track the compensating or locking down that went along with my movements, which is why starting with REST is so helpful.

I was exhausted and sick.

I know I couldn't think straight when I wasn't well rested, and this added stress spirals us deeper into a place where we cannot rest well, a vicious cycle.
