Getting back on the Instagram horse!
And back to my project I had started before life went rogue!
This is a beautiful mama of 1, 3 months after her C section. Sowing her scar and beautiful linea nigra for other mamas to see. When asked about her body post natal... This mammy said she was "empowered".
I havnt really chatted about this before so let's mention it. The linea nigra is a darkening of the skin along the midline of the tummy (this midline area is known as the linea alba normal which means white line). I pregnancy good old placenta produced hormones are thought to increase melanin production which can cause darkening of the skin, and so some women will develop a linea nigra (or black line) along the midline of the belly. It can be straight or sometimes crooked. It can go the whole length of the belly or sometime s only part of it. It usually happens in the 2nd trimester and often disappears after birth but not always.
I never had one! But see them so often in clinic. Did you have one?crooked, straight? Long short? Did it dissappear after birth?
