When we started Bunyarra, we made a promise — whatever it takes to make sure someone gets the support they need, we’ll stand by that.

This week really put that to the test. With the weather hitting hard and staff on site working harder to get what was needed done, sitting within four white walls just wasn’t going to cut it.

So instead, it was about meeting people where they are — on the back of four strong legs, in the working pens, having real conversations, wellbeing check-ins, and showing up no matter what the day threw at us.

A big thanks to the crew at for putting your people first and allowing us to support them in whatever way was needed at the time.

Turning up isn’t always about doing the job you’re hired for.
Sometimes, it’s about being there — even when people don’t ask for it or think they need it.

This week, with the heat turning it up a notch, it wasn’t about staying behind a desk or ticking off tasks. It was about getting out on the plant, checking in, keeping the team hydrated, and making sure everyone stayed in a positive space.

Because turning up means more than showing up for the work — it’s about showing up for the people.
Doing the small things that might not be in your job description, but matter more than you realise.

Often, the biggest difference we make isn’t in what we do, but in how we show up.
And that quiet presence — a drink of water, a quick chat, a simple check-in — can mean more than we’ll ever know. 🦋

Differentiation matters when it comes to supporting mental wellbeing.

As practitioners, our role is to ensure that the way we provide support meets the needs of the people we walk alongside. It’s not about the space itself—it’s about how safe, comfortable, and genuine that space feels.

Recently, we met Bob while on a job site. Bob is proactive about checking in, and his truck has become the check-in space. No offices, no formal setting—just a safe spot where real conversations can happen.

Because no matter where it is, if it’s safe for the client and safe for the practitioner, then it works.

Thank you also to for allowing the time for their staff to pull up and take the moment to prioritise their health.

Safe spaces don’t have to look the same—they just need to feel right.

Every day is an opportunity to start a conversation, to listen without judgment, and to remind someone they’re not alone.

Lloyd brings with him over 20 years of experience as a counsellor and youth worker within the education system, where he has been a steady support for young people in need. His compassion, dedication, and wealth of knowledge will play an important role in helping us continue to grow and ensure our services meet the needs of those we support.

But that’s not all—Lloyd is also a multi award-winning musician 🎶, with an impressive list of accolades, including:

It was fantastic to join for their Tradie Health & Mental Health Games event.

Days like this are such a great reminder of the power of collaboration—when businesses, tradies, and the community come together to not only raise awareness but also take action towards better health and wellbeing.

Even better, funds raised from the event will go directly towards ensuring that people in our community who may not be able to afford support are not limited by financial barriers.

Over the last couple of years Bunyarra has been fortunate to have growth in many industries, and in order to ensure we provide the best service we can in these industries, our teams have to grow to support.

Growing our team means growing the impact we can have for our clients. To deliver the best outcomes, it’s vital to have experts who bring not only skill, but also lived experience at the highest level.

Mia brings over a decade of experience as a professional basketball player, competing across Europe and Australia. With highlights including a Portugal Cup win, Luxembourg Cup win, and Latvian League MVP, Mia knows what it takes to perform, lead, and succeed under pressure.

Educated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and a deep passion for teamwork and leadership, she’s ready to bring her knowledge and unique perspective to help us keep raising the bar.

Having Mia on our team enables us to ensure our approach to supporting athletes and their wellbeing from grass roots to professional level is appropriate and delivered as needed.
