Every day across the South Burnett, our Disability Services and Gumnut Place teams work side-by-side to support people living with a disability to live well, build confidence, and take part in community life.

From daily living support, transport and community access, all the way to meaningful supported employment in Gumnut Place’s timber workshop, commercial kitchen, packaging area, and laundry — our teams create pathways for people to grow, achieve, and feel proud of who they are.

💛 Together, we provide:
• Individual support that builds independence
• Social and community connection
• Skill development and learning opportunities
• Supported employment in local industries
• A safe, stable, respectful environment for people to thrive
• Services that strengthen families and our whole community

Whether someone is learning a new life skill, gaining confidence in the community, or working on a product in the Gumnut workshop, each moment matters — and every achievement is celebrated.

👏 A huge thank you to our Disability Services staff and our Gumnut Place employees.
Your teamwork creates dignity, opportunity, and a strong sense of belonging across the region.

Do you know how Neighbourhood Centres strengthen our community? why not pop in for a look, a chat, or one of our free weekly activities at your local Nanango Neighbourhood Centre?

Curious about how Neighbourhood Centres strengthen connection across the South Burnett? Here’s a snapshot 💜

Centres across the region recently gave Chris from NCQ firsthand insight into the powerful work they do every day to support, connect and strengthen their communities.

📍Nanango Neighbourhood Centre (South Burnett CTC Inc) is a welcoming place for locals to access programs, community connection, information and support, including youth programs, family services, homelessness support and emergency relief. It’s a friendly hub where people can drop in, seek assistance, and build relationships.

📍 Graham House Community Centre in Murgon delivers a wide range of services including community transport, emergency relief, NILs, programs for families, community events and more. Chris also visited their impressive social enterprise clothing store, GH Clothing Co., as well as their beautiful garden and op shop.

📍 East Creek Community Centre in Toowoomba is a friendly space offering social groups like cuppa and cards and stroke support group, computer lessons, tax help, referral services, education activities, and creative groups like crochet. They also recently brought together 20+ people at the SWAN Neighbourhood Centre Network Meeting to collaborate and share insights.

📍 Kingaroy Neighbourhood Centre (Centacare) provides a welcoming place for people to connect and access support including counselling, community activities, group programs, information and referral, and connections to specialist services through Centacare such as domestic violence and sexual assault support services.

👏 A big thank you to all the Centres across the South Burnett for your ongoing commitment to community-led work. Your impact is felt every day.
