Join Destination North Coast's General Manager Michael Thurston and Industry Engagement Manager Ashley Gray on Thursday 2 April from 3pm for a short, practical information session designed to help you understand the Regional Event Fund and develop a strong, competitive application.

In this session, they’ll cover:

• Eligibility and assessment criteria across each funding stream
• Practical tips for writing a clear, compelling application
• Available resources to support your submission, plus a live Q&A

The Regional Event Fund supports events that drive visitation and showcase the unique character of regional NSW. With three dedicated streams—Incubator, Flagship and Event Development—it provides a clear pathway for events to grow from concept through to established tourism drivers.

After 6.5 years with The Tweed Tourism Co., General Manager Sally Scott has tendered her resignation.

“It’s been a privilege to lead an award-winning, high-performing team and to grow awareness for The Tweed,” Sally said.

Under Sally’s leadership, The Tweed has achieved national recognition, including the NSW Tourism Award for Best Tourism Marketing and Campaigns for three consecutive years, earning Hall of Fame status, a first for any destination in New South Wales, along with consecutive Qantas Australian Tourism Awards.

With a strong focus on industry engagement, Sally has played a key role in uniting The Tweed’s tourism operators, fostering a collaborative approach to achieving shared goals. This spirit of partnership is at the heart of Savour The Tweed, the region’s signature event, created by Sally and the team.

Please join us in thanking Sally for her leadership, drive and passion for The Tweed. Her final day will be 17 April.

Yesterday The Tweed was joined by The Hinterland Collection for ‘Focus on NSW’ in Sydney. The trade event organised by Destination NSW connected destinations and operators with key international travel buyers from New Zealand, UK, Europe and North America.

The structured B2B meetings were fast paced and ended with a networking event at the Opera House. Lots of exciting opportunities for The Tweed and leads to operators. 🙌🏼
