Lemon water first thing in the morning. Sparkling water throughout the day. A kombucha with lunch. These feel like healthy habits, and some of them genuinely are. But there’s a side effect most people don’t hear much about: what all that acidity is quietly doing to your tooth enamel.

Most people focus their dental self-checks on their teeth: looking for anything dark or broken, maybe running a tongue over a spot that feels off. But the tongue itself is one of the most informative surfaces in your mouth.

✨Meet Dr Michelle Yet ✨

Originally from Singapore, Dr Michelle moved to Brisbane to study at the University of Queensland. She graduated in with a Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours and has continued to develop her skills through ongoing education and professional development.

Dr Michelle has completed additional training in clear aligner therapy and is currently undertaking further training in implant placement. She has also completed training in therapeutic injectables used in the management of TMJ and TMD related concerns and is continuing training in cosmetic injectables. She also has a growing interest in dental sleep medicine, particularly recognising signs that may suggest sleep-related breathing concerns, such as sleep apnea.

Dr Michelle is known for her calm, soft-spoken manner and takes time to listen, explain and support patients through each step of their visit. She values a conservative, education-focused approach and aims to help people feel comfortable and informed when making decisions about their oral health.

With experience in a family dental clinic, Dr Michelle welcomes patients of all ages and enjoys caring for children and families. She aims to create a relaxed, welcoming environment, particularly for those who feel nervous about dental appointments.

Dr Michelle particularly enjoys periodontal deep cleaning appointments and appreciates the detail involved. She also places a strong focus on preventative dentistry and practical home care guidance, helping patients maintain healthy habits between visits.

Outside the clinic, Dr Michelle enjoys crochet and knitting, as well as figure skating, which she began in her early twenties. She also loves exploring new restaurants and is especially fond of Asian and Italian cuisine.

After living and working in Sydney, Dr Michelle has relocated to Perth to be closer to her partner’s family and looks forward to taking great care of local patients and families.

You brush before bed, yet you still wake up with breath that could stop traffic. If you’ve ever wondered why your mouth feels like a desert overnight, the answer might surprise you.

You’re eating lunch when you hear it—a distinct clicking or popping sound coming from your jaw. Maybe it happens every time you open your mouth wide, or perhaps it’s occasional. Either way, you wonder if something’s wrong.

We have some lovely news we’re excited to share with you all!! 🤩😍🤩😍

Many of you will already know Chloe, who has been part of our practice family since the very beginning. What you may not know is just how much her journey has grown over the years — and we couldn’t be more proud!!🥰🥰🥰

Chloe started with us as a dental assistant, and through her passion for patient care and love of dentistry, she went on to graduate as Dux of her Oral Health Therapy degree at Curtin University. She is now continuing her studies by completing her Dentistry degree at the University of Western Australia, all while remaining an important part of our team.

✨ What this means for you

- Chloe will be working Saturdays and some additional weekdays (whenever we can have her when she is not tied up with her busy university schedule!!!)

- She will be the clinician caring for active maintenance appointments on Saturdays

- You’ll see a familiar, friendly face who knows our patients and community so well

- As a Kingsley local, Chloe genuinely loves caring for patients from her own community. She’s known for her calm, kind nature — especially for helping anxious patients feel relaxed and at ease — and has a strong focus on preventative care and education.

Outside the clinic, Chloe brings the same dedication to her personal goals, having taken on challenges like the Rottnest Channel Swim and endurance events, reflecting the determination she brings to both her studies and patient care.

We are absolutely thrilled that Chloe continues to grow her skills and experience while remaining a valued part of our practice family. It means so much to us — and to our patients — that she’s continuing to care for our community in an even broader capacity.

If you’d like to book a Saturday appointment (or try and find a rare weekday one), our friendly team would love to help you find a time that suits 🥳🤩

Dry mouth might seem like a small annoyance—until it starts affecting your teeth, gums, and comfort day to day. If your mouth often feels sticky, you wake up thirsty, or you’re constantly reaching for water, it may be more than dehydration. Saliva does a lot more than keep your mouth comfortable...
