: Day 29

We would like to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to our wonderful veterinary team of Mark and Janet Buckerfield, from Hobart Equine Practice.

The commitment and sheer amount of time they dedicate to our horses goes above and beyond. Their expertise ensures all of our equine partners receive the very best care, and we can't thank them enough for their tireless efforts. From routine check-ups to complex cases, their knowledge, patience, and unwavering commitment provide us with total peace of mind.

Thank you, Mark and Janet, for being such a crucial part of our team and for putting your hearts into your work.

: Day 25

Pole work is one of the many activities our Coaches setup on the arena. Ground poles (and also slightly elevated pole activities) are beneficial for our horses to develop suppleness, balance, strength and rhythm.

For our participants polework develops core strength and balance, learning new riding positions, awareness of their horse's movements, and also offers variety and stimulation as there a multitude of combinations and ways they can be ridden.

Do you have a favourite polework exercise! Drop it in the comments, we'd love to know what it is.

: Day 24

On this day, 5 December, it's International Volunteer Day. The theme this year is "Every Contribution Matters" and we'd like to recognise the contribution our volunteers make to RDA.

There are many roles for volunteers - leader, sidewalker, paddock and centre maintenance, horse feeders, board members, fund raising, social media, to name but a few. Every contribution, no matter how big, or how small, really does matter.

Thank you to our team of Volunteers. You are all super stars 🌟

Interested in becoming a volunteer and contributing? Get involved and support the RDA community.

: Day 23

Last night (Wednesday), we had the immense pleasure of hosting our annual Volunteer Dinner, and our hearts are overflowing with gratitude! β€οΈπŸ’œ

To our incredible volunteers: Thank You. Your dedication, countless hours, and passion are the fuel that drives our mission. Every smile shared, every task completed, and every act of kindness you perform makes a profound difference in our community. You are truly the best, and we couldn't do what we do without you.

We loved Dining at the Lenah Valley RSL Bistro. Great venue and yummy food.

: Day 18

Our RDA horses are all very special and we've had many come and go throughout the years.

Does anyone remember cute little Toby? Toby was one of the ponies at RDA Kalang (now RDA South).

Toby was chosen as a finalist for RDA Horse of the Year in 2017. Unfortunately, he wasn't a winner, but he certainly won over our hearts with his character and overall cuteness. He didn't really have a heart as a side marking - just a trick of the angle. ❀️

We need more horses like Toby 🐴. Well, not quite like Toby, they need to be bigger (14.2hh - 16hh)! Can you help out? If you think you have a suitable horse, get in touch.
