Art and Play-Based Psychotherapy with Adele Koulouris 🌈
Adele loves working with children and adolescents using art and play-based psychotherapy modalities. She believes art and creativity give young people space to express themselves when words feel hard to find. Her focus is on helping clients build emotional regulation, social skills, and enhanced general wellbeing through creative exploration.
As a neurodiversity affirming therapist, Adele centers her work around each young person’s unique strengths, needs, and goals. She has trained in Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) profiles and neurodivergent-affirming approaches to work respectfully and effectively with all her clients. She uses different art materials and techniques depending on what works best for each person, meeting them where they are on the day. Adele aims to create a safe, relaxed space where clients can explore, experiment, and grow at their own pace.
Adele completed her Masters of Art Therapy at Western Sydney University in 2023 and is registered with The Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA). She has over four years of experience working creatively with children and young people. Over the past two years, she has been supporting children and adolescents on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which has deepened her passion for helping young people navigate emotional, social, and psychological challenges. Adele completed her final placement at Westmead Children’s Hospital in the Department of Adolescent Medicine and Mental Health Sector, where she developed her skills in trauma-informed practice.
