As ANZAC Day approaches tomorrow, we take a moment to pause, reflect, and remember 🌺

We honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, our country. Their strength, mateship, and resilience have shaped the values we hold today, and their legacy lives on in the stories we share and the respect we show.

On this ANZAC Day, we encourage everyone to take a quiet moment, whether at a dawn service, with loved ones, or in your own way, to reflect on those who gave so much.

🌿 May Day Program is here! 🌿

We’re excited to share everything we have planned for May at our Townsville NDIS Day Program — and it’s packed with meaningful, engaging experiences both in the community and at our centre.

From nature walks at The Palmetum and Riverway, to creative arts, cooking, gardening, and themed days like World Bee Day, our participants will be building life skills, social connections, and confidence in a supportive, low-pressure environment 💛

✨ Highlights include:
• Community outings (The Strand, Bunnings, Castletown & more)
• Cooking sessions (bliss balls, wraps, cupcakes & gluten-free BLTs)
• Creative arts for our upcoming Journey Connect Art Gallery
• Gardening, sustainability & hands-on learning experiences
• Games, puzzles & social connection time

Our program is developed by experienced clinicians and designed to support routine, independence, and a sense of achievement — all while having fun!

Creative, colourful, and a little bit magical ✨

This week in our Day Program, we explored creativity through hands-on sensory activities and community connection 🌿🎨

We painted rocks to hide around the Palmetum for others to find (keep an eye out if you’re visiting 👀), experimented with “magic milk” using food colouring, milk and detergent to watch colours come to life, and tried our hand at salt art using PVA, salt and watercolours 🖌️

These activities support creativity, fine motor skills, and sensory exploration, all while having fun and trying something new 💛

Our programs are designed to build confidence, encourage self-expression, and create meaningful experiences in both centre-based and community settings.

Busy, busy week in our NDIS Day Program 🌿☕🍕

We kicked things off with a relaxing nature walk at the Palmetum, enjoying a coffee, listening to the birds, and discovering hidden painted rocks along the way 👀🎨 Back at the hub, participants got hands-on making their own pizzas for lunch (always a favourite!) before extending their learning by creating bird feeders inspired by the wildlife they observed 🐦

A perfect mix of community access, creativity, and life skills — all while building confidence, routine, and connection 💚

From river walk to creative expression 🐢✨

After spotting turtles down at Riverway, the group brought their inspiration back to the hub and created their own turtle collages using recycled book pages. A simple moment in the community turned into a hands-on, meaningful activity that encouraged creativity, sustainability, and connection to the world around us.
