Your Health Information
Kirwan GP Clinic requires signed consent before copying, transferring, or requesting your private health information be transferred from another service. As is customary amongst GPs, Kirwan GP Clinic will provide a Full Summary free of charge. To access your Complete Medical Record which includes progress notes from each consultation, a reasonable administration fee of no more than $50.00 plus GST will incur. Recall & Reminder System
Kirwan GP Clinic uses a recall and reminder system to advise our patients about important preventative health measures relevant to your individual care. These may include reminders about investigations, immunization and health assessments. Our reception team may contact you by phone or post depending on the urgency, therefore it is important we have your current contact details. Speak with your GP if you if you would like to be taken off our recall and reminder system. Communication Policy
Our GPs do not take telephone calls during scheduled appointments, except in the case of an emergency or where it is clinically necessary to do so. For this reason, our reception team record all telephone enquiries and forward them to the relevant GP/Nurse for a timely response. Investigation Results
At Kirwan GP Clinic, results are not notified by telephone. If you have been referred for further investigations, remember to book a follow up appointment. If we receive results that require discussion or treatment and you do not already have an appointment, our reception staff will contact you to rebook, as part of our recall and reminder system. ❤️ A Message for Our Community: Protect Your Heart — Know Your Lp(a)

Every day in our clinics, we work hard to prevent heart attacks, strokes, and life‑changing complications. But there is one silent risk factor that many people have never heard of — and it’s time we change that.

🔍 What is Lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a)
Lp(a) is a genetically inherited cholesterol particle.
Unlike regular cholesterol, your lifestyle has very little influence on it. You can eat well, exercise, and do everything right — and still have high Lp(a) simply because it runs in your family.

High Lp(a) can quietly increase your risk of:

- ❤️ Heart attack
- 🧠 Stroke
- 🫀 Aortic stenosis (a serious valve disease)

This makes Lp(a) one of the most important — yet most overlooked — markers of heart health.
