Made the trip to Brisbane to catch up with Dr. Reza Adib recently to share experience on bariatric management and surgical techniques.

Reza has a wealth of bariatric experience and it was great to pick his brain on how to fine tune our practice.

It was also a privilege to catch up with Dr. Daniel Foley, Melbourne Bariatric Surgeon, to share knowledge on current trends in bariatric and upper GI management.

Special thanks to Baxter for making the trip happen!

Obesity is a long term problem that goes way beyond just simple diet and exercise.

Managing a complex problem requires a multi-modality approach where we often need to initiate significant change through A TARGETED INTERVENTION (i.e. Surgery or Medication), accompanied by ongoing support through a team of surgeon, dietitian and psychologist.

The role of PSYCHOLOGY can not be under-played as we aim to change years/decades of food relationship and triggers that have played a role in a patient's weight struggle.

Kathy, our psychologist is an integral part of the team who can be a crucial part of your weight loss puzzle. Embrace your journey, stay open minded and soak up all the available advice! Read more about Kathy here -> https://drqiuyecheng.com.au/about-dr-qiuye-cheng/kathy-harris/

It is important to cherish the journey, set realistic weight loss targets and not beat yourself up when things don't go your way. Remember, you are already winning the battle when you had decided to take back control! πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ🦾
