Build your own table!

I've always been told I'm too loud.
Too embarrassing.
Too fat.
Too much work.
Too ugly.
Too emotional.
Those people aren't enough for me.
I needed eccentric, colourful, wonderfully weird, full of fun people at my table.
I never fit in at my family's table.
Struggled at the school table and never wanted to sit at the mean table..
So...
I built my own table out of collections of life lessons.
It's made with blood, sweat, tears and love.
It's not perfect, but it's solid.
Anyone can sit with me, but my boundaries are high.
So you may be asked to leave if you cross a boundary. I have no issue doing this. It opens a seat for new people to sit with me.
You'll never miss my table, it's bright and warm and always in the sunshine.

Within our society, but especially amongst our Disability communities, Choice & Control are imperative!
If you feel your provider, carer or any other advocate isn't putting your best interests at the forefront, then you leave them.
If you feel like you are being told what services or experiences you should receive instead of what you feel is best for you, that's Coercive Control and you leave.
There are way too many Disability Services out here taking advantage of our most vulnerable.
Report them!
Tell a trusted friend and change the service.
YOU are in Control.
