I used to think I had to hide away from my boys when everything got too much, or I had to hold my feelings in until they weren't around... then I noticed they were holding their feelings in & bottling it all up too!

It's absolutely ok to fall apart in front of your kids when life goes to s**t!!

Because they will also see you pull it together, get your ass up of the floor & keep on moving 💚

I recieved a gorgous order from a Father's Day sale today, I had to order the matching coffee mugs to my Mother's Day set, & the new scents were a must have! Who doesn't love the smell of coffee & bourbon 😋

Absof**kenlutely THIS 🙌 Adults need to remember this with the little people in their lives!

When kids feel the big, adult emotions in their little bodies its a hell of a lot to process when they don't have the skills yet. It's a bloody lot for us adults some days!

Add to those heightened emotions massive changes in their daily lives, an adult yelling at them/telling them to be quiet, getting into trouble for physically/agressively acting out to try to expel the turmoil within them, feeling scared and anxious... this then teaches them that its not ok to communicate their emotions with those they feel safest with, that they're wrong for trying to communicate their fears/anxieties.

Be mindful of those little one's still learning & show them its ok to communicate but give them the time to learn & lead by example.

If you want them to become calm & emotionally mature adults then you need to show them what that looks like even if you never had that freedom & support yourself ❤️

What's your go to snack, meal or life in general prep?

My boys put in their school & holidays requests this morning!
Choc chip muffins & sour worm/choc chip muffins ready for frosting, my signature choc chunk cookies, & wholemeal, sourdough, vanilla sugar cookies ready for decorating later.

I've also cooked up some spicy chicken thighs & chicken breast ready to make into casserole & chicken, mac & cheese bake 😋

For me, meal/snack prep is a way of making me feel like I'm in control of & on top of something in this crazy ride of life, even if I'm really not 🤣

This right here is my calm... creating food filled with love... knowing my boys will remember & cherish Mumma’s cooking (sorry, not sorry in advance to their future wives 🤣) & knowing its something they will continue to create with their babies one day, passing down MeeMaw's love filled deliciousness 🥰 (coz apparently I'm going to be cool like Sheldon's MeeMaw 🤣)

I've been MIA from TMK for a little while as I am finalising my kitchen so I can finally share my heart filled baked creations with you all, creating an exciting offering to help explode the coaching side of our island bench and also working through some personal challenges along the way.
