🌺 Lest we forget 🌺

Residents, staff and guests at Warramunda Village came together yesterday to mark Anzac Day with a special service, taking time to pause, reflect and honour those who have served our country.

Earlier in the week, we were also delighted to welcome students from Kyabram P-12 College, who joined residents on Tuesday morning for a wonderful Anzac biscuit baking session. The kitchen filled with stories, laughter and that unmistakable golden-syrup aroma as generations worked side by side.

It was a meaningful way to share the spirit of Anzac Day together — remembering the past while creating new memories in the present.

Thank you to the students for spending the morning with us. We loved having you here. 🇦🇺

🌸 A wonderful morning of connection, shopping and smiles at Warramunda 🌸

On Tuesday, we were delighted to host the Ian Collie Pharmacy Mother’s Day Pop-Up Shop — and what a lovely success it was!

Residents from Sheridan joined our Warramunda Village and Warramunda Unit residents for a morning of browsing, gift choosing and a little retail therapy. Even our staff couldn’t resist joining in the fun! 🛍️💝

Beyond the beautiful gifts, it was the catch-ups and connections that made the day truly special.
💗 Shirley Mitchell (Warramunda) enjoyed a lovely visit with Vera Gemmill from Sheridan
💗 Bev Wills (Warramunda) reconnected with her long-time friend Rhonda Symons from Sheridan

Adding to the excitement, Ian Collie Pharmacy also hosted a raffle on the day — congratulations to Raelene Dean (Sheridan), our lucky winner! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped create such a warm and joyful atmosphere. Moments like these are what make our community so special.

🌟 Celebrating Our Very First Lindy Sheers Award Winner! 🌟
What a special moment for Warramunda Village 💛
Culture is at the heart of everything we do, and our We Care values - Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence - shine brightest when we celebrate the amazing people who live them every day.
This month we launched something truly meaningful:
✨ The Lindy Sheers Award - or as we’re already calling them, the Lindys!
Named in honour of our much‑loved colleague and friend Lindy, who we sadly lost last year, these awards recognise the spirit she brought to our Village. She embodied our values, and this award is a beautiful legacy of her kindness, strength and heart. 💛🌼
📝 March Nominations
Our very first month saw 11 incredible nominations - a wonderful reflection of the dedication across our Village.
👏 Nominees:
• Katie McCormack
• Ross Cooper
• Joy Orr
• Marissa Hooper
• Virgie Mabulac
• Melinda Thomas
• Cassie O’Dwyer
And with an amazing four nominations…
🏆 Congratulations to our March Winner - Louise Connally! 🎉
Louise was very close to Lindy, making this recognition even more special. She kindly shared a beautiful photo of the two of them - a reminder of the friendships and connections that make Warramunda such a special place. ❤️
🌟 A Monthly Celebration - Get Involved!
The Lindy Sheers Award will be presented every month, and we encourage all staff to nominate a co‑worker who lives our We Care values. This is your chance to shine a light on the people who make our Village such a wonderful place to live and work. 💛🙌
A huge thank‑you to our Culture Change Group for bringing this project to life — and to everyone who took the time to nominate.
🎉 Well done, Louise - and thank you to all our amazing staff!
Your compassion, commitment and excellence make Warramunda Village the community we are proud to be. 🌟💛

🎉 Happy 100th Birthday, Nellie! 🎂

Today we celebrated a truly special milestone at Warramunda Village as Nellie marked her 100th birthday surrounded by friends, family and fellow residents.

Nellie enjoyed a birthday cake at lunchtime with everyone here at the Village before heading across to the Hub this afternoon to continue the celebrations with her family — a beautiful way to honour a remarkable century.

Nellie’s story is one of family, service, community and quiet strength, and we feel very lucky to share this chapter of it with her at Warramunda. 💛

And 2026 is shaping up to be a very special year for our Village, with three residents reaching 100:
🎈 Nellie Lees – today
🎈 Stan Coldwell – 21 July
🎈 Alwyn Drysdale – 8 December

What an extraordinary trio to celebrate.

Happy birthday, Nellie — we are so proud to celebrate with you today. 🌼

🎨 Creativity continues to bloom at Warramunda 🎨

Last month we were delighted to welcome back iconic Tongala artist Murray Ross for another of his inspiring monthly art sessions with our residents.

These sessions are always a highlight on the calendar, offering a chance to slow down, pick up a brush and let imagination take the lead. With Murray’s gentle guidance and encouragement, our residents once again produced a collection of wonderful masterpieces — each one full of colour, character and personal story.

There’s something special about watching a blank page turn into a landscape, a memory or a moment captured in paint. Just as importantly, these sessions bring plenty of conversation, laughter and quiet pride as artworks take shape across the table.

A big thank you to Murray for continuing to share his time, talent and creativity with our village community. We’re already looking forward to the next session 🖌️💛

A special family catch-up 💜

This week, resident Laurie Doolan enjoyed a lovely visit from his cousin Margaret Binion (née Doolan).

There’s something truly special about reconnecting with family and sharing memories together, and it was wonderful to see Laurie and Margaret spending some quality time catching up here at the Village.

Moments like these help make Warramunda feel just like home.

🧶 Knitting with heart

There’s something very special happening in our Saunders Street Wing thanks to the talented hands of resident Joyce Read.

Joyce has been busy knitting a beautiful collection of children’s jumpers, now available from a small pop-up table in the wing, with all proceeds supporting resident Lifestyle activities here at Warramunda Village.

Recently, some thoughtful students from Kyabram P-12 College stopped by and chose a jumper for their teacher, who is expecting a baby soon. A lovely moment of kindness and connection across generations.

If you’re visiting the Village, be sure to take a look at Joyce’s wonderful work. Each stitch is made with care, and every purchase helps support activities that bring joy to our residents.

Thank you, Joyce, for sharing your talent with our community 💜

🏉 Footy Tipping Season is Back at Warramunda Village! 🏉

There was plenty of footy chatter and friendly debate around the Village last week as students from Kyabram P–12 College visited to help our residents get their football tips in for the round ahead.

This wonderful intergenerational tradition has become a highlight of the footy calendar here at Warramunda, and we’re delighted that the students will be returning each week throughout the season, just as they did last year.

It’s a fantastic way to spark conversation, share stories of legendary matches and favourite teams, and enjoy the excitement of the season together.

A big thank you to the Kyabram P–12 students for bringing their enthusiasm and community spirit into the Village — we’re looking forward to another great tipping season together! 🏆💛

🎉 Happy 96th Birthday, Kelvin! 🎉

There was a wonderful reason to celebrate at Warramunda Village on Monday, as Kelvin West marked the remarkable milestone of his 96th birthday surrounded by those who matter most. 💛

Kelvin enjoyed a special birthday lunch here at the Village with his family, making the day even more meaningful. Sharing the celebration were son Russell, brother Noel, sister Lynette, wife Edith, Kelvin, daughter Sue and husband Ivan, and son Fred and wife Marilyn — a lovely gathering full of smiles and memories.

From everyone at Warramunda Village, we wish Kelvin a very happy birthday and thank him for letting us be part of such a special day. 🎂✨
