🎨 Creativity continues to bloom at Warramunda 🎨

Last month we were delighted to welcome back iconic Tongala artist Murray Ross for another of his inspiring monthly art sessions with our residents.

These sessions are always a highlight on the calendar, offering a chance to slow down, pick up a brush and let imagination take the lead. With Murray’s gentle guidance and encouragement, our residents once again produced a collection of wonderful masterpieces — each one full of colour, character and personal story.

There’s something special about watching a blank page turn into a landscape, a memory or a moment captured in paint. Just as importantly, these sessions bring plenty of conversation, laughter and quiet pride as artworks take shape across the table.

A big thank you to Murray for continuing to share his time, talent and creativity with our village community. We’re already looking forward to the next session 🖌️💛

A special family catch-up 💜

This week, resident Laurie Doolan enjoyed a lovely visit from his cousin Margaret Binion (née Doolan).

There’s something truly special about reconnecting with family and sharing memories together, and it was wonderful to see Laurie and Margaret spending some quality time catching up here at the Village.

Moments like these help make Warramunda feel just like home.

🧶 Knitting with heart

There’s something very special happening in our Saunders Street Wing thanks to the talented hands of resident Joyce Read.

Joyce has been busy knitting a beautiful collection of children’s jumpers, now available from a small pop-up table in the wing, with all proceeds supporting resident Lifestyle activities here at Warramunda Village.

Recently, some thoughtful students from Kyabram P-12 College stopped by and chose a jumper for their teacher, who is expecting a baby soon. A lovely moment of kindness and connection across generations.

If you’re visiting the Village, be sure to take a look at Joyce’s wonderful work. Each stitch is made with care, and every purchase helps support activities that bring joy to our residents.

Thank you, Joyce, for sharing your talent with our community 💜

🏉 Footy Tipping Season is Back at Warramunda Village! 🏉

There was plenty of footy chatter and friendly debate around the Village last week as students from Kyabram P–12 College visited to help our residents get their football tips in for the round ahead.

This wonderful intergenerational tradition has become a highlight of the footy calendar here at Warramunda, and we’re delighted that the students will be returning each week throughout the season, just as they did last year.

It’s a fantastic way to spark conversation, share stories of legendary matches and favourite teams, and enjoy the excitement of the season together.

A big thank you to the Kyabram P–12 students for bringing their enthusiasm and community spirit into the Village — we’re looking forward to another great tipping season together! 🏆💛

🎉 Happy 96th Birthday, Kelvin! 🎉

There was a wonderful reason to celebrate at Warramunda Village on Monday, as Kelvin West marked the remarkable milestone of his 96th birthday surrounded by those who matter most. 💛

Kelvin enjoyed a special birthday lunch here at the Village with his family, making the day even more meaningful. Sharing the celebration were son Russell, brother Noel, sister Lynette, wife Edith, Kelvin, daughter Sue and husband Ivan, and son Fred and wife Marilyn — a lovely gathering full of smiles and memories.

From everyone at Warramunda Village, we wish Kelvin a very happy birthday and thank him for letting us be part of such a special day. 🎂✨

🍀 A Touch of Irish Magic at Warramunda Village 🍀

Yesterday, the Village was bursting with green, laughter and a whole lot of Irish cheer as we celebrated St Patrick’s Day in style! 🇮🇪✨

The morning kicked off with some light-hearted competition across both the Main Dining Room and Saunders Dining Room, where residents tried their luck at gold coin tossing and tested their aim with balloon shooting — plenty of laughs, a little friendly rivalry, and just a hint of Irish luck in the air! 🎯💰

By the afternoon, the celebrations rolled on with the wonderful Claire and Glenn, who filled the room with music and joy. Residents sang along to a lively mix of Irish favourites and country classics, creating a warm, toe-tapping atmosphere that had everyone smiling. 🎶💚

A fantastic day of connection, fun and celebration — just the way we like it at Warramunda Village.

(We think there may have been a few lucky charms hidden around too…) 🍀

🐾 A very special visitor 🐾

There were plenty of smiles around Warramunda Village yesterday with a visit from one of our most loved regular guests — Teddy the pet therapy dog and his wonderful handler Vonda. 💛

Teddy has been visiting our residents since he was just a puppy, bringing comfort, companionship and plenty of wagging-tail happiness along the way.

Today, Teddy celebrates a very special milestone — his 4th birthday! 🎂🐶

Yesterday’s visit doubled as a little early birthday celebration, and our residents were delighted to spend time with him, share plenty of pats, and help mark the occasion.

Happy 4th Birthday Teddy — thank you for all the joy you bring to Warramunda Village! 🐾💛

💙 Celebrating the Heart and Soul of Warramunda 💙

Warramunda Village recently celebrated something very special — the first ever Culture Change Group Service Recognition Event, held at Parkland Golf Club.

The evening brought together staff from across the Village and Community Care to recognise the people who embody our WE CARE philosophy every day in their work with residents and clients.

MC Mel Thomas captured the spirit of the night perfectly, describing Warramunda staff as “the heart and soul of the Village.” What began as a simple idea following last year’s staff survey — highlighting the need to better recognise our people — grew into a wonderful celebration of dedication, compassion and teamwork.

✨ More than 50 staff members were recognised for their years of service, with awards presented across several milestones from 5 years through to more than 20 years of service.

A special moment came as we honoured two remarkable team members who have each dedicated more than two decades to Warramunda:

🏅 Helen McDonald – serving the Village since December 2003
🏅 Anna Resul – serving since July 2002, approaching an incredible 25 years next year

Thank you to every staff member who continues to make Warramunda Village a place of compassion, connection and care.

Across nearly 25 years, Dale has contributed to a wide range of community organisations and local boards, including:

🏥 Kyabram District Health Service – 10 years as Board Chair and Director, overseeing major developments including a $4.5 million redevelopment. Dale now holds the honour of Life Governor.
🏦 Kyabram Community Bank (Bendigo Bank) – Director and Vice Chair
🎓 Kyabram P–12 College Council – long-standing council member and former President
🏉 Involvement with the Kyabram Football Netball Club, local tennis associations and regional development initiatives.

Professionally, Dale operates Denham Design, a respected building design and consultancy practice working across the Goulburn Valley. His experience in residential and commercial design, project planning and major developments will bring valuable insight as Warramunda continues to evolve to meet the needs of our community. 🏗️📐

We are thrilled to welcome Dale to the Warramunda Board and look forward to the knowledge, leadership and community spirit he will bring as we continue shaping the future of Warramunda Village. 💙🌿
