If you live in Goulburn and you're getting unsteady on your feet, local physiotherapists Saili Deodhar and Nitish Mathew have teamed up with well-known fitness trainer Tess Wharton to help community members get better balance and reduce their risk of falling in group and individual sessions.
The Better Balance Initiative is being run out of Highland Physios clinic at the back of Marima Medical Clinic, 152 Auburn Street, Goulburn. You might have heard about the launch on the radio - GNFM did a three-hour broadcast on Tuesday 10 February 2026.
The way it works is that Saili and Nitish do postural sway assessments on a computerised floor mat called the Balance Mat; Tess runs a weekly exercise program; and then Saili and Nitish reassess people's sway levels. The aim is to see some improvement over time.
