We’re sharing an important petition on behalf of a family calling for urgent change to the NDIS age limit.

After a devastating accident while on holiday last year, Howard sustained quadriplegia and now requires 24-hour, complex disability support.

He had celebrated his 65th birthday just 16 days before his accident.

Due to his age, Howard (pictured with wife Lorraine) was deemed ineligible for the NDIS and instead directed to the aged care system – which is not designed or resourced to support people with catastrophic injuries like spinal cord injury.

This gap is leaving individuals and families without the specialised support they need at a critical time.

This petition calls on the Government to remove the age limit for the NDIS for people with severe disabilities. Please consider signing and sharing before it closes on 10 March: https://aph.pulse.ly/jkxx9hd7wq
