This Recovery Framework is grounded in six core principles:
1. Supporting personal recoveryโhelping participants live a life meaningful to them.
2. Valuing lived experienceโensuring policy reflects real voices among participants.
3. NDIS & mental health integrationโfor seamless clinical and disability support.
4. Informed decisionโmakingโempowering participants with clear, helpful resources.
5. Responsive to fluctuating needsโrecognizing the episodic nature of many conditions.
6. A traumaโinformed, recoveryโoriented workforceโso staff and partners are equipped and compassionate.
Developed through wide consultation with participants, families, carers, experts, and governments, this framework represents a new chapter of recovery-centered support within the NDIS.
It means better guidance, more flexibility, genuine inclusion, and services that really fit each personโs journeyโso that everyone with psychosocial disability can pursue independence and community connection with dignity.
