Lambton Women's Health- Dr Geoff Otton, Gynaeoncologist Our office hours are Monday to Thursday, 9am-4:30pm The Newcolp Centre has been a well established medical practice for over 15 years.

Dr Geoffrey Otton is an accredited Gynaecological Surgeon with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and Certified in Gynaecological Oncology and Colposcopy. He specialises in the management of women's cancers including Uterine, Ovarian, Cervical and Vulval as well as the management of abnormal Pap smears.

Perimenopause is the phase in a woman's life before menopause characterised by fluctuations in their hormone levels, especially oestrogen. Women may experience a range of symptoms including hot flushes, mood changes, sleep changes, fatigue, vaginal dryness and period problems. Because they are still having a period, they are told it can't be menopause. If you would like to discuss your symptoms, you will need a referral from your GP. Don't give up. There is something you can do and claim your life back.

Menopause - The majority of women will go through menopause. Mostly this is a "natural" process but some will have an induced menopause because of surgery or other treatment such as chemotherapy. However it may occur, menopause is associated with symptoms such as hot flushes, insomnia and mood changes as well as body changes that can impact significantly on quality of life both in the short and longer term. A cervical screening test (formerly known as a pap smear) does NOT detect ovarian cancer. There is NO effective screening test or preventative vaccine for .
