Our thoughts and condolences are with the mans family and friends after he lost his life swimming at an unpatrolled beach in Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle yesterday.

What is troubling behind the scenes?

Over the past couple of years…

Drowning statistics are increasing in NSW and Australia.

Please, think twice and reflect on your ability to swim with the conditions you are faced with.

If in doubt, skip the swim.

Better still…

Swim at a patrolled beach, in the flagged areas under the supervision of professional lifeguards.

RIP

NSW lifeguards have found a dead body in waters off Caves Beach at Lake Macquarie.

Do you know what CPR is and how to do it?

CPR is cardio-pulmonary resuscitation!

It is what we need to be prepared to do if a cardiac arrests occurs.

How will you know?

The patient will be unconscious and not breathing normally.

Call 000 or 112 and commence CPR!

Would you feel confident to recognise and respond to this?
