Amazing to see these fresh-faced doctors are still very much part of the Tasmanian medical community today! 🙏

Dr Carlin White and Dr Liz Lord have both gone on to Occupational Medicine, both working at Work Fit Tas, while Dr Vasuki now runs her own practice, Evandale General Practice

Same doctors, a few more years of experience… and possibly a little less baby-face. 😄

If that sounds like your kind of weekend, you’ll get along just fine with Dr Ayesha Wanninayake.

A cricket fan who proudly rates Great Southern Land as her ultimate Aussie anthem, Dr Ayesha enjoys making the most of the outdoors with beach days, camping trips and family BBQs.

Clinically, she brings over a decade of experience across Australia and Sri Lanka. A graduate of Rajarata University with a Master of Public Health from Torrens University, she has worked across medicine, paediatrics and emergency care at Launceston General Hospital.

Her special interests include paediatrics, dermatology and chronic disease management, and she’s known for her calm, thoughtful approach.

She’s now welcoming patients at Launceston Medical Centre.

We’re so excited to have Dr Maddison Gardner join us as a GP Registrar at Launceston Medical Centre.

Maddison has strong clinical interests in paediatrics and also in palliative care. She feels deeply honoured to care for children and to support patients and families through some of life’s most important and vulnerable moments. Her calm, compassionate style and genuine love for people shine through in everything she does.

She began her medical journey at Monash University before completing her MBBS at University of Tasmania. Since then, she has worked across general medicine, emergency medicine, paediatrics, women’s health, rural general practice and after hours care, giving her a well rounded foundation in community healthcare.

Maddison is also passionate about teaching and mentoring medical students. She values clear communication, team based care and thoughtful, evidence based medicine.

Outside of work, you will likely find her spending time with family and friends, barracking proudly for Collingwood 🖤🤍 or cheering on McLaren during the Formula One season.

If you see Maddison around the clinic, make sure you say hello and give her a warm welcome 💙

We’re excited to welcome Dr Tom Gardiner to Launceston Medical Centre 🎉

Launceston born and proudly local, Tom brings a passion for whole family care and a special interest in Sports Medicine. With a background in hospital medicine and a love of sport, he enjoys helping patients stay active and get back to doing what they love.

Outside of work, Tom is a devoted Carlton tragic, so he’s well trained in resilience and managing disappointment. 😜

He also plays reserves soccer and is a proud new dad to an energetic and delightfully wild little boy.

Tom is excited for what 2026 has in store, and we’re thrilled to have him on the team.

It's with great pleasure that we introduce the first of our newest registrars, Dr Louis Ttofa-Roberts! 🙌

Dr Louis Ttofa-Roberts is a GP Registrar who graduated from Newcastle University in the United Kingdom in 2019. He brings broad clinical experience across general medicine, emergency medicine, intensive care, and acute hospital settings.

Louis has a strong interest in medical education and enjoys supporting patients with complex and undifferentiated presentations, drawing on his extensive hospital background.

Having previously lived and worked in Tasmania, Louis is pleased to be back in the state he now considers home.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing the piano, learning new languages, socialising, and following his favourite UK football team, Tranmere Rovers through thick, thin and the occasional nail biting finish!

Heads up Louis - there will be a request for "Piano Man" at the next social catch up!

He’s back and we’re counting down!

We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Dr Luke Heathcote back to Launceston Medical Centre on Thursday, 5 February 🙌

Tasmanian born and bred, Luke returns to us after spending time at our sister practice Norwood Medical Centre where he’ll be consulting until the end of January. Then it’s bags packed, stethoscope ready, and back to LMC he comes!

A graduate of the University of Tasmania (2021), Luke has worked across Paediatrics, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Intensive Care at Launceston General Hospital, before moving into general practice in 2024. In 2025, he was named Tasmanian GP in Training of the Year because excellence tends to follow him around! 🏆

Luke is passionate about patient-centred care, preventive medicine, and medical education, and loves the continuity and relationships that general practice brings. Outside work, he’s busy enjoying Tasmania’s food and wine festivals and exploring the state (tough gig, someone has to do it 🍷).

We can’t wait to have you back, Luke! February can’t come fast enough! 😄

While Australia is dominating The Ashes and fans are buzzing about Cummins’ return, this summer’s cricket excitement isn’t just on the big stage - we’ve got our own star in the spotlight!

Dr Glenn Richardson has been selected for the Silver Ashes and World Cup squad next Feb/March, heading off once again to represent Australia at the big tournaments! 🎉🙌

🩺 And no, he’s not retiring (not yet anyway 😉) but he will be off making us proud on the cricketing world stage.

📅 Regular patients: make sure you snag your appointments early before Dr Glenn trades his clinic chair for a comfy pavilion seat! 😄🏏
