Kaleidoscope Expressive Arts

Kaleidoscope Expressive Arts Kaleidoscope Expressive Arts is a nature immersive, arts centric, experiential, collaborative therapy space. Trauma informed.

You are invited to embody your innate curiosity, courage & creativity in self expression that reclaims selfdom and re-wilds. Art therapy is using art materials to explore feelings, thoughts and experiences that may be difficult to verbalise. An art therapy process may be something as simple as a squiggle drawn onto paper or a thumbprint pressed into clay.

My face says it all! Bliss for me is clearing the desk of work and creating art without purpose. Inky, painty textured, splattered, layered, scrunched, rubbed, dipped, smeared, dotted… Make a mess. Make art for no reason. Art for arts sake. Art to feel. Art for me. Art to be free. Art to accidentally express something from deep within. Art reveals. Art heals.

Yesterday I boiled the “dirty pot” for a little botanical printing session with local weeds, so lovely to be back printing the personalities of plants on paper and fabric.

I think I’ve always been a forager. i remember picking my neighbours mulberries on the way home from school, I had journals full of feathers and pressed leaves. I remember making perfume by crushing lemon scented tea tree leaves into water… I still find great joy in slow walking, leaning in, touching earth. Nature walking always connects me with memories of being a small child in my nanas garden, standing next to her orange hibiscus, and roses always equals my mother. Creating with natural always brings me memories…
Bookings open for reconnecting with nature through cyanotype printing.

Aching for peace atm. Peace to me means going deep within, into the wild parts of me that feel free. Free to grieve and soothe, free to express the difficult emotions and thoughts, free to move or create art as a means to survive the moments. Free to wander in the wild, listen to trees and cicadas and creeks.
Rewild: to be fully human.

Art making shows us we exist. To create a scribbly line, a shape, to cause colours to appear causes us to be perceived as visible, to have substance and a presence. Curious about reawakening your sense of Self? Your creativity? On Tuesdays we practice taking up space: on paper and in our lives. Booking link in bio, we have an inclusive and welcoming space!

What do you see? Experience? Softness. Uncurling. Wanting to be seen. Warm. Grey. Tiny specks of colour. Interlocked fibres. Layers. Flexible. Fuzziness. Cosy. Enticing….
Our experiences either our senses are part of the healing journey, when we encourage our body to feel sensations such as texture we begin to get out of our head. We do not heal by thinking, trauma is stored in the body and healing is a somatic experience.

Art therapy because sometimes there are no words

We meet you where you are at. We provide safe spaces and art materials. We collaborate with you and encourage creative expressions that explore feelings, thoughts and experiences that may be difficult to verbalise. An art therapy process may be something as simple as a squiggle drawn onto paper or a thumbprint pressed into clay. We help people empower themselves to health and wellbeing through the creative arts.
