We certainly have had some trying times over the 2023-24 period. However, as quiet achievers, the team is always busy researching and editing for new projects.

On a very positive note we are now back on track and our IT expert Robyn and our research team has been working with PORT STEPHENS COUNCIL and FRIENDS OF TANILBA HOUSE on a special project.

It is a HERITAGE project and is absolutely brilliant. Our website has undergone a huge transformation and will be simultaneously unveiled with the HERITAGE PROJECT.

Our Research Centre will be closed for the Easter Holidays on Thursday 6 April and Thursday 13 April 2023.

Presentation and special screening by Tina Clayton who at age 59 found out she had been adopted. Follows her journey of discovery finding out about her biological parents.

There are 6 seats still available on Thursday 28 July 2022, starting at 11am sharp at our Research Centre.

Soup and damper will be served for lunch following the presentation. Cost $5 per person.

These are the Centenary Gates or Water gates- completed in 1931 also built by Henry F. Halloran.

We received an enquiry yesterday regarding the history of the stone gates at Tanilba Bay. This is a very early picture of the Entrance or land gates nearing completion in 1931 from our archives- no roads as yet
Our society, some time back, published a book " Henry F. Halloran in Port Stephens, the Legacy", which tells you all about the rustic, pseudo convict stonework at Tanilba Bay. It is available for $15 plus postage.

Looking for family of Waldo Maynard who at one time had a store at Salt Ash and also Lemon Tree Passage. The photo shows the Maynard family at Tanilba House circa 1920.

The society will be holding their Christmas get-together at Club Lemon Tree on Thursday 25 November 2021. 12.15pm meet in the restaurant.

Normally we would hold in December, however many members will be on the road, travelling, finally catching up with their loved ones.

Good News! Our Research Centre will re-open on Thursday 21 October 10am to 1pm. You will need to be double vacc and wear a mask please. Numbers are limited to 10 people at the moment.

Keeping our members safe is a priority, however it will be great to see those smiling friendly faces, just what the Doctor ordered!
