As an ex binge eater & chronic dieter, I used to try to beat hunger.
I’d starve for hours, eat ‘good’ all day, aim for minimal calories, only for it to backfire & binge a block of chocolate later that afternoon & night.
I had no idea what hunger even felt like, from years of suppressing it through restriction.
Now, honouring my hunger is a superpower, allowing me to feel energised, nourished & cared for. A key tool in keeping me in control of food, stabilise my energy, improve my mood (& keep me somewhat sane 🤪).
Not a shameful, scary signal!
